From a german Ramen lover perspective, this Ramen Restaurant is one of the best I have ever been outside of Japan! Thanks for that delicious start in our New Zealand Trip!

Shoya Ramen is hands down my favourite ramen spot in Auckland β€” and honestly, so underrated. I’m really picky when it comes to ramen and only go for authentic, high-quality places, and Shoya absolutely delivers every time. Their Tonkotsu Ramen is incredible β€” the broth is rich, balanced, and full of flavour. I usually prefer Tonkotsu Shoyu for more depth, but this broth is perfect as is. The noodles have just the right bite β€” thick, curly, and perfectly cooked β€” and the chashu is melt in your mouth good (which is rare, even at more β€œpopular” ramen spots in Auckland). The gyoza and other sides are just as delicious, and the staff are always so kind, welcoming, and attentive. My only wish is that they were open on weekends so I could go even more often! Truly the best ramen I’ve had in New Zealand β€” can’t recommend Shoya enough. :)

I was in Auckland for a conference and for one week and nearly everyday, I visited this place! I am a big Ramen fan and the Ramen of this restaurant just catched my attention and it was perfect! Sorry for the boring image collection of just one dish, which I ate 4 times there, but it was just so delicious. It is called Hell Ramen, which you can order in different spice levels. I started somewhere in the middle (which was already very spicy) and traveled the ladder up to the highest spice level and it was so good! Thanks to the family that runs this place! You were very nice!

What a surprise! This was simply outstanding. We ordered the Hell Ramen (3) and Tonkotsu Miso. Both were great, but the Tonkotsu brooth was almost identical to what we had in Sapporo in the "Okami" Ramen Bar. Brought us straight back into Sapporo's winter, slurping on Ramen while there was a snowstorm outside we could watch from the window. The only difference we could spot was that the noodles were not home made and the Cashu was thinner and not grilled before it was added to the soup. But apart from that a very pleasant experience. Thank you for bringing back the memories. Edit: it was so delicious, that we went there twice!

Delicious authentic ramen and they make their own spicy hell version, go for it if you like the heat! $10 500ml cans of beer plus $8 curry and rice on the side. $7 edamame. Will be back!

Taste: 5/5 Portions: medium Price: $-$$ Atmosphere: 5/5 I had the tonkotsu ramen, which was super tasty, a very rich broth. The curry gyoza (there were 6 of them to start) were also quite good. The dessert was really nice as well. Definitely recommend.
