   Ok value for money. This place requires a lot of maintenance. No ventilation in rooms or bathrooms. Expect some broken things. Expect bed bugs. Location is not posh but convenient with lot of food options nearby. Manager is really nice and helpful.

   We booked 2 nights and wished we’d left after the 1st night. Room was dirty, the air quality of the room was weird and had us coughing throughout the night, extractor fan in the bathroom wasn’t working, shower holder was broken, stains on the cushions of the fold out couch, walls are so thin you can hear the neighbours coughing. Still waiting for our bond back, they said it’s being delayed by our bank.. yeah right!

   If I could leave no stars for service I would! Not helpful AT ALL! RUDE AND DISMISSIVE! Word of advice for the reception .. if you don't enjoy your job. Especially when you engage with people on a daily basis? Quit! Because you have THE WORST attitude and not only does it reflect in your tone and overall mannerisms, but you make your customers feel like garbage! The lady I just spoke to gave me the price for one night.. I asked for an overall price for a week and she told ME to times it by 7 in such a patronizing tone! INCOMPETENCY AT ITS FINEST! I am in awe of how unethical, UNPROFESSIONAL and the total LACK of empathy I was shown in a matter of minutes. Disgusting.

   Room wasn't as big as web site shows. Not great value for the amount paid. Laundry room is shut at a certain time. Daughter got bites on her arms. Wouldn't recommend for price. Rooms are hot. Has air con which is good.. No windows that actually allow air in. Service was good.

   From the outset of my first conversion with the manager I knew this is where we were going to be staying. We wanted to book a family room to accommodate our small family of 6. For the price it was reasonable considering the convinience of all amenities within a close walking distance. Due to our budget we asked for a smaller room (1bedroom suite) as the only difference between that room and the family room was a single bed. The suite has a large double bed and a fold down couch so I rang back and I asked him if we could have that room instead. After explaining my kids were small enough to fit on the fold down couch and our 1 year old had her portable cot he gladly agreed to let us have the suite but went a little further and offered us the family room at the same rate as the suite. This is service at its finest. A stranger to this man I was and he showed a high level of professionalism, compassion and courtesy towards my family in the form of family focused policies that they have in place. On arrival we were greeted by a friendly smile and a very pleasant environment. If I needed anything all we had to do was ask. I highly recommend Motel 540, the people from manager to employees are friendly and courteous and makes staying here a pleasurable experience. This is our new motel when we're in Auckland we will go no where else! Thank you John and Sam we had a wonderful stay.
