   My husband collects weapons from around the world, so naturally when we visited Auckland he wanted to bring home a native piece. Our first stop was Poi Room, which had beautiful pieces, but unfortunately we weren’t acknowledged when we walked in—even as we were clearly expressing interest in the art. In the end, I’m glad we didn’t find anything there because it led us to discover this gem instead. The woman who runs it is an absolute joy, and her pieces are stunning—beautifully crafted, meaningful, and very reasonably priced. It’s truly worth the trip to see them in person, though you can also purchase online directly. We’re so happy with the incredible pieces my husband found here. It felt meant to be!
