   My friend and I both got manicures with builder gel. Despite booking beforehand, the staff were really confused and weren’t overly friendly or welcoming. The nails looked okay but for the price, you’d expect more - there was no cuticle trimming or massage. My friends gel was next level thick and became painful as it grew out (picture attached). I also had a pedicure and it gave me an ingrown toenail.

   I had my nails done at May Nails in Howick, and I’m absolutely blown away! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and calm. The staff were not only friendly but also incredibly professional — they knew exactly what they were doing and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process. They worked efficiently without rushing, and the attention to detail was impressive. My nails look stunning and feel so much lighter than usual — it’s like they’ve perfected the art of nail care! The finish is smooth, elegant, and exactly what I wanted. I left the salon feeling pampered and genuinely happy. If you’re looking for a place that combines skill, speed, and a great vibe, May Nails is the one. Highly recommended — I’ll definitely be back!

   It was my first time visiting the salon and sadly the last. Though I am happy with the manicure, done by one team member. The quality of the pedicure was just so terrible, I actually asked the other lady to stop. Firstly, she cut my nails uneven, which I had to ask twice to be corrected. Then the cuticle removal and feet cleaning was so negligent, I just could not continue. The team cannot do it properly, as they say, simply as they do not have the right tools. I told the lady, that acted as a manager, 'why would anyone be coming for a pedicure to then have to do it again at home.' To note, neither my cuticles or skin was not that overgrown. A little more pumex worked perfectly fine. Really a huge shame as I would love to support a local business, but the pedicure quality is just not there. Photos included. Feet after the salon + feet with a little more care finished at home. A huge difference, using a simple black pumex alone. I would rather avoid, sadly.

   I received a gift voucher for Christmas and decided to use it in April. When I got my voucher out I saw that it had expired 1 April which is a very short time to have a voucher valid for. Pretty annoying because that’s $50 wasted. When I called they said they no longer sell vouchers ether and that their vouchers were only valid for 3 months. Disappointed.
