   Such a good wknd here. For the price it has all you need. My feedback is this, we ran a few baths as this was the drawcard, yes they are big but we ran pit of hot water both nights. The toilet seat literally squeaked sitting on it. For 2 nights booked we had 3 tiny milks in the fridge, im glad I bought my own. We thought for a kitchenette we cld cook our own breakfast, but this room only had a toaster and microwave, no sink, no hob or oven . I had to throw out food I had bought to cook. The fridge is tiny, we went up the road to get ice for my chilly bin so felt like camping. The pool is lovely but first day was full of debris. The trees and garden surrounding are wonderful! If you want a view of the ocean go somewhere else. Had to scale up to flights of stairs with heavy bags for not much advantage. Staff were amazing, very friendly. Parking is tight. Surrounding shops are plentiful if you have $. Beach is a short walk.

   Great location being a stone-throw from the beach. It’s a sleepy motel with a beautiful courtyard garden. I would recommend it if you’re after a private, peaceful place to stay. Reason for the low rating is a feeling of false advertising. We booked the place for 4 nights off the back of the pictures of a big looking pool and lots of seating in the court yard to relax, plus plenty of reviews mentioning great service. The reality was a small enclosed pool with a few tired looking seats around. There was what seemed to be a shared indoor space with a table and kitchen, but which we were told off by staff for using. The garden was pretty but the vibe of the place felt unwelcoming, the building felt tired and the service stand off-ish like you’re a nuicence for checking in. There was also a note warning you not to press the netflix button on the TV remotes. It seems the other high reviews have been due to a manager called James, who we did not have the pleasure of meeting.

   The Emerald Inn was managed by James when I had my stay there. He is very accommodating and extremely helpful. The facilities are very clean and modern and the location is one of the best on Aucklands North Shore. I highly recommend James and the Emerald Inn staff as a top choice for your stay if you are ever visiting Auckland.

   The beach was beautiful and impeccably clean, perfect for relaxing with a mesmerizing sunset view. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive.Our room was clean, spacious, and had a great view of the sea. The food was also excellent

   For the price of this accommodation I would look elsewhere! Granted that the location is incredible & decorating impeccable, but no air conditioning & only an oil heater in winter to heat an entire apartment want great as well as no ventilation in bathrooms. Bed was lumpy but I still slept well thank goodness! A little bit of noise as it is not double glazed either & windows are in dire need of replacement. Beware of opening hours for reception as I almost got caught out with an issue with my reservation from my booking provider…

   Really convenient to Bruce Mason Centre. Comfortable bed and pillows. Can be noisy with cars on the main road, but I stay here when I come for concerts.

   Very expensive for what you get. It's pretty tired and needs a refurb pretty badly. Fan in bathroom didn't work, the iron spat out dirty water on our clothes, the cleaning was average. If you paid for what you got it wouldn't be so bad, but I guess you're paying for location

   Yes the place of the hotel is nice but there are too many bad things about this hotel. The parking is so small and cramped, no air conditioning,the wifi would disconnect randomly and even if you had data it wouldn’t work because of bad service. it smelled terribly in the kitchen and in the bathroom. by the end of our visit I used up a whole bottle of air freshener just to make the smell bearable. there were also bugs underneath the glass in the kitchen table .The lights were very dim and one didn’t even work. Don’t spend your money at this place it’s not worth it
