We booked one night when we were already in the airport. They picked us up few minutes after the calling for 7$ per Person. Nice place, very friendly and helpful staff. ATM, Supermarket & restaurants are nearby. Kitchen with all you need to cook available + free coffee & tea. Laundry + dryer costs 8$.

Me and my daughter stayed overnight here beginning of April 2016 before we flew back to Perth. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, when I rang Mikki about my booking she was a little hard to understand, but on arrival she was very welcoming. Although this place is old it was warm and cosy. Showers were ok, nice and clean. There is a diary/supermarket 5 min walk up the road. Close to the airport. We enjoyed our stay here and will definitely stay again when I go home to NZ :)
Very unfriendly and unprofessional managers! They are blaming you for their mistakes and tell you that the guests are pissing them off due to various reasons. The managers simply don't fit in the tourism branche. Just don't stay there! If you don't believe me go and read a few random ratings on tripadvisor. Don't ruin your NZ trip by staying here! If you do, you have been warned!
We spent a few hours here before leaving for the airport at 4 a.m. It's a friendly place and we were comfortable, the guy running it really wanted to be sure we would have a peaceful night. The kitchen is big, shared and there is some free stuff clearly labelled as such, e.g milk, pasta, sauces. The room we eventually settled in was some sort of outside cabin. The room and bathrooms were tatty. I would stay again, I have no complaints, but actually if I could get nearer the airport I probably would. Be aware you have to pay for the shuttle. The Ibis is close enough to walk, and not much more for the room...
This backpackers is 5 mins from the airport and costs the same as a bus ticket into town so is perfect for a one night stay. Comfortable beds and surrounds and excellent customer service. Ideal if only staying one night while waiting for flights from Auckland airport
