An Exceptional Stay at BK’s Pioneer Motor Lodge I had an outstanding experience at BK’s Pioneer Motor Lodge. From the moment I arrived, the service was warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. The team here clearly takes pride in offering a high standard of hospitality, and it really shows in every interaction. My room was spotless, modern, and extremely comfortable — exactly what you hope for after a long day of travel. The beds were great, the amenities well thought out, and the overall presentation exceeded expectations. Despite being close to the airport and main roads, the room felt surprisingly peaceful and private, making it easy to relax and unwind. The location is incredibly convenient, especially for early flights or quick trips into the city. Parking was easy, check-in was smooth, and everything worked as it should. It’s the kind of place where you immediately feel at ease. What stood out most, though, was the consistently high level of care from the staff. They were friendly, responsive, and always happy to help — a rare level of genuine hospitality that really elevates the whole experience. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend BK’s Pioneer Motor Lodge to anyone looking for clean, comfortable, and reliable accommodation near Auckland Airport. A fantastic stay from start to finish!

Do not stay if you need sleep Worst experience – the floors are effectively paper thin, so do not sleep here if you actually need rest. Everything was fine until around 11:30 pm when the guests in the room above began walking around, moving things and thumping across the floor. I had a 5 am departure, so I was already in bed, but the constant noise from upstairs meant I could not switch off. By 12:50 am the noise still hadn’t stopped, so I called reception from my own phone because there is no in-room phone. Leo at reception was very polite and said he would speak with them, and I heard him go up to their room. The noise eased briefly, then started again and carried on until about 3:30 am, making sleep basically impossible. The ironic part is that even though the hotel is close to a main road, you barely notice traffic, yet you hear every step and scrape from the room above due to the poor flooring. I eventually used earplugs just to get some rest, which meant I slept through my wake-up and missed the 5 am airport shuttle. When I went to reception to ask about the next shuttle, there was no one there, and calling the emergency number got no response either, despite the place advertising 24/7 reception and airport service. I ended up paying $18 for an Uber to the airport. The only positives were Leo, who was genuinely helpful and professional, and the nice, clean room but the overall experience was terrible. Not recommended at all unless you are fine with a sleepless night.

Great motel to stay at close to Auckland airport. Nicely refurbished rooms are well appointed and very comfortable. The spa in bathroom is great and is surprisingly quiet. Only a short 5 min walk to shops and eatery's. Free Airport shuttle was big bonus. Well worth staying here when coming and going from Auckland airport. Our host was very friendly.

Lovely Motel to stay at with comfy beds and spa bath. Nice wee kitchen with fridge including a plunge pot for that morning coffee. it’s great they run a shuttle service for pick up and drop off. Couldn’t have been happier .12/10

The location was good, and so was the free airport shuttle. However, when I was being dropped off to the domestic airport the next day, l told the driver that I wanted to go to AirNZ terminal. He dropped me off by Jetstar which was at the other side of the terminal, saying something like that he couldn't park by AirNZ terminal and I couldn't hear the rest of what he said. To his credit, he grabbed one of my suitcases and ran all the way to the AIRNZ terminal and I was grateful. The room was clean, the lady at reception the night I arrived was very friendly. The waiting area for the shuttle is outside undercover and it was cold. The shuttle didn't have a luggage trailer, the suitcases were stacked by the door and along the seats. This made it difficult to get to the back seats if there were more than 2-3 passengers especially if they had more than one suitcase each. It would be easy enough to do better, but things seem to be done on a budget.

If you’re traveling with a person with disabilities or have a disability, DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL. Their shuttle driver has absolutely no regard for someone who has a disability, most especially if you have a hidden one. We experienced this first hand with my brother who is autistic, he is non-verbal and has to move a bit slower than everyone. Their shuttle driver just kept complaining that we were late, but we were only 2 minutes late. He was just getting mad us the entire time on our way to the airport. Had we known that their shuttle driver had this disgusting attitude, we would’ve booked another hotel. Shame on the shuttle driver and his ignorance regarding a person with a hidden disability. I hope that this shuttle driver educates himself with people who are different from him. I hardly ever leave reviews for hotels and restaurants, but this time I must share what me and my family have experienced.

My experience with the hotel was alright. Nice staff. Free shuttle service to and from hotel was a good plus factor. One negative experience was the shuttle driver going back to the airport. He was the rudest person I have ever come across with in my life! We were running 2 minutes late and he started complaining. He told my husband off insisting he sit at the back even if there was no more space. I told him I had a special boy with me which he should give some consideration for. He said he doesn’t care and that shouldn’t be a problem!!! This is totally unacceptable! This is the first time I have come across someone who had ever given me that comment and the gall to say that!! I pity this guy for his ignorance and existence

Overall, our stay was okay good but the carparking was a big letdown with too many cars cramped into insufficient space. We were directed to park outside the motel on the footpath. There are other positive features such as free laundry and free shuttle.

I had one night in Auckland and strayed here. It was fantastic and had everything I needed. Rang from airport and the free shuttle picked me up in 10 minutes. Took it back to airport again next morning. Had a great room on 2nd floor at the end of the landing so very quiet. Car park was full so it is obviously very popular. Service was brilliant - fixed faulty TV remote and every exchange was extremely friendly. Ate a lovely Indian meal around the corner for dinner as well. Not expensive but highly recommended.
