Chips were some of the best ever had but sad to say the crumbed fish the worst I have ever had. Totally unchewable obviously very old/frozen fish. Returned it to the shop with compliments about the chips & concerns about the fish but got no response so left them with the fish.
One of the worst fish and chips I’ve eaten. The chips tasted very old and cold. Also burnt? The fish was okay but too dry. Very disappointing. Wouldn’t get again.
Ordered fish n chips from Johnsonville Fish Supply last night, fish was OK, but chips were terrible!! Looked like we got fed a mix of scraps (chips and wedges) they were dark, dry, and overcooked. Don't think I'll buy from here again, especially whilst visiting from out of town.
IG: 2Fish1Chip Headed up the gorge to visit Johnsonville Fish Supply. Order: fish, scoop of chips, corn fritter and a sausage. Cost: $20.60 There was a soft crunch to the batter on the Blue Warehou which gave a slight doughy after taste. It did detract from the steaky flesh that was delicious and filling. The hand cut chips were on point with the classic crispy exterior and soft inside. Portion size was okay, probably slightly smaller than the average scoop. Corn fritter was delicious! Plenty of corn and well seasoned mash and herb. My preferential condiments to enhance this heavenly gift is malt vinegar, ketchup and 2 fried eggs! Buttered bread is a bit much and I’ll only have that if I’ve just ordered chips. Great job JFS! Great job indeed.
Really tasty fish, moist on the inside and crispy on the outside. The traditionally hand-cut chip tasted better compared to commercially made ones. Paua fritter is special. Definitely value for money … I paid around £5.50 in the UK for a piece of fish - visiting kiwi living in London! Will call again if I live nearby.
Ordered 1 scoop of chips with salt and lemon pepper on the phone. On arrival the order had not been placed. Then had to re order a scoop of chips with salt and lemon pepper and had to wait over mins. After the long wait they then called out an order of 1 scoop of chips with vinegar. After realising they were looking at me I informed them they they made a mistake. Instead of admitting they had made yet another mistake they just looked at me like I was the one in the wrong. It was the easiest order in the world and they couldn’t get that right. If you’re gonna do that to people at least apologise and or give a refund. Terrible service. The chip were ok.
Felt like fish and chips on a whim, and hadn’t had them from this shop before. Pleased to say they were delicious, both fish and chips were spot on. Pleasant service also:)
Loved the food, the donut was amazing and it's hard to find a place that does them well. Everything was good, only thing that stopped me giving 5 stars was, the chips tasted a bit old
Orderd 2 crubed fish, 2 sausages and 2 crabsitcks and 1 scope of chips, and got no crabsticks and a handful of chips waste of money
Reasonable prices and great service. The chips weren't as good as some others, but it was otherwise nice. They stay open fairly late.
