The U K Shop. U K items available. A Taste From Home The management has changed and the staff is very much polite, courteous and helpful. Very nice environment. They have N Z post and Lotto too. Many services and items at one place. I would suggest to visit those who visit Orewa, NZ

Place used to have an amazing selection of British foods that were not that expensive. Now they have barely any variety and it's all priced out of this world. New ownership clearly didn't care to keep it going properly

The store has a variety of items, and you can avoid being disappointed if you check the best before dates PRIOR to purchasing - a lot of previous reviews seem to blame the owner when really it's up to the customer to check & decide if they want to buy! However I would love if the owner took on board that items past their best before date do taste different/become lower quality, and perhaps mark down stock of this nature (especially if it is past the date by months)... this is purely just constructive feedback, not an attack on the business itself.

This review is in relation to my partners review below. Whoever is writing the replies below is totally lying. My partner told the owner that some of his stock is out of date and asked if she could have a discount there was no "privacy" questions he is claiming. My GF was really upset the way he treated her. 100% Abusive what he did and said. By the way the majority of items are out of date, he is rude and was apparently also arguing with anther customer before her. If you have had the same experience please report him to NZ Post also.

I assume old indian guy is the owner. Owner was so rude and try to argue with customers. Very good service

Poor manners. Got a scratchy and started to play it on the counter. Told me to go and do it on another table which is fine but in a very rude tone. Avoid if you can. Hes not nice and is arrogant. If you notice there are a lot of fake 5 star reviews.

Not sure what happened because a lot of your reviews praise you for being friendly. I didn't experience any of that today when I visited. Customers don't want you following them around nagging them and what's with the passive aggressive stickers everywhere saying don't touch this or that. Is the product for sale or not? Unpack your product and display it nicely rather than leaving all in the packaging it was shipped in and then having a huff when a customer wants it. You made me feel so uncomfortable.

Consistently terrible here. All products are past the best before dates, this wouldn’t be a problem if they are a few months past their dates but they are 12+ months in some cases. I purchased some hula hoops that were 18+ months past the best before! This was partly my fault as I didn’t realise the date was 2020 and not 2021 but the fact these are even on sale is disgusting!! They were inedible, soggy and a complete waste of money. Not only is almost every item disgusting and well past it’s best before date, they are extortionately expensive!!! I understand that with import costs, the products will be considerably more expensive in NZ as opposed to buying them in the UK but when you are charging triple the UK price for a product 12 months past the best before date, this is just unacceptable. To put the cherry on top of the cake, the staff in the store are extremely rude and this is widely spoken about across the community here. My partner entered the store a couple of days ago and was questioned about not wearing her mask. She explained to have a medical exemption (as she has a medical condition preventing her wearing a mask) the owner would not accept this exemption despite the fact she has proof that it has been sent by the ministry of health themselves!!! This behaviour is outrageous and discriminatory. He refused to serve her without a mask even though she showed the exemption. I have reported this to the ministry of health and Citizens Advice who have informed me that it is something they are taking extremely seriously and will be following up with the owner. Safe to say I won’t be shopping here again. There are plenty of British shops across Auckland selling much better quality products that are nowhere near as past their best before date and also a fraction of the cost that they charge here!! I await the usual response from the owner telling me that they ask if you are ok with the dates etc etc as I have read the previous reviews on here. It really appears that the owner does not care about negative reviews and only makes excuses in their responses to invalidate the customers concerns. Maybe the owner should take note of these reviews and aim to do better.

Fabulous, family owned business conveniently located at the heart of Orewa town. The UK grocery range is huge (managed to snag Monster Munch and Bisto gravy!) and the lovely owners are happy to take orders and hold my favourites for me. There are also NZ groceries, magazines, and greeting cards, it's a great one stop shop. And I have had huge luck with the Lotto in this shop! Will definitely make this my regular!
