Originally from Otaki, residing in Melbourne for 30 years now & come back every year to visit family. Randomly I found ATB, after a chat with Kyle, ideas & an hour & half later I walked out with a memorable tattoo from my childhood. I was treated with professionalism, friendliness, & a touch of respectful humour. I was so impressed & elated when I left I vowed & declared I’d go back next year when I comeback over the ditch. Mikey is fantastic. I trusted him with my first tattoo - a very complex and personal full back piece. We worked on it for several months - I spent almost 50 hours on the table and together we spent about 20 hours collaborating on it. Mikey was an incredible collaborator - he was creative, always respectful and very knowledgable. He pushed back when my ideas weren't working and embraced my suggestions when they did work. He consistently offered great ideas and truly engaged with the challenge I walked in with. I felt safe and cared for throughout the whole process. The tone in the shop was personal, accessible, professional, clean, fun. Needless to say, I love the final artwork on my back. Mikey had to deliver a variety of different styles to make the piece work and nailed all of them. The whole thing - the art, the process, the professionalism, the friendliness, the openness - was super awesome and I'm super grateful!!!
Cant recommend Michael enough. Wonderful studio and a truly great artist. I’ve spent about 25 hours or so under the machine with him, and plan on another 50-60 in the next couple of years. Michael creates amazing fresh original artwork and his ability continues to impress me. Thanks bro, I’m so happy with your work on me so far - can’t wait for more in the future.
