   We recently had our engagement party at Flamingo Joe's and had a stellar night! The bar staff and event manager were incredible, the grazing table was gorgeous and I am gutted we didn't take a photo of it! We had around 50 people, and the minimum spend for a Saturday night was one of the lowest in Wellington - HIGHLY recommend booking for a function/event and will definitely consider it again in future. Cannot speak highly enough of the event manager who really went above and beyond to make sure our night was special, and the bar staff who made some incredible cocktails. If I could give six stars, I would!

   We had a function at Flamingo Joe's and it was really excellent. Nice food (set menu), very reasonably priced and great service. They accommodated all dietary needs and were super flexible. It's a fun venue with a lot of atmosphere - we booked out the restaurant space which was perfect for our needs. Highly recommend for any functions at all, both in terms of value for money and for a good night out on the waterfront.

1. Man of Steel ★★☆☆☆

   Fun spot with a funky, themed vibe. At first, nothing really stood out—good or bad—and I was leaning toward 4 stars. But when my beer arrived (see photo), the way it was served was a real letdown. It felt careless and showed a lack of respect for the beer. Until they improve their beer handling and presentation, I can’t rate it higher.

   We enjoyed our meal at Flamingo Joe's. There was nothing spectacular about the chicken burger and beef burger we ordered but we thought they were very nice. The coffee was very good too. The staff were pleasant and the atmosphere was good. Overall experience was pretty good. We will definitely come back.
