I’ve booked a stay with Ascotia now several times previously and my experience staying with them was always very positive, their rooms are nice and always cleaned immaculately. Considering the price they are an extremely affordable option and my go to if ever I’m needing a hotel room in the CBD. They are conveniently located within a short walking distance to many ammenities. Short walking distance from both Queen street area as well as Kroad area. If anybody is seeking an affordable option for accommodation they would always be my first recommendation! ☺️

⭐ 1/5 — Would Not Recommend I had a really disappointing stay at Ascotia on Queen. From the start, they mucked up our parking even though I had written confirmation. Parking was meant to be $35 per day for 3 days, but they hadn’t actually booked it. They did give us one night free, but we still had to find parking elsewhere for a night—on the opposite side of Queen St, and even that was cheaper at $26. When we first walked in, the reception area smelled strongly of curry, which wasn’t a great first impression. Our room on the second floor was tiny, and the bathroom was not clean at all—there was mould all through the shower. Housekeeping even forgot to make our beds and didn’t replenish the toilet paper. On our second night, the entire second floor reeked of weed. Someone had clearly smoked out a room because it was honestly overwhelming. The beds were uncomfortable, and the duvets had yellow stains on them. To top it off, when I used the stairwell on our last night, someone had vomited everywhere. The only positive was the location, but overall this place was far from great. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. Definitely look elsewhere.

Okay for the price but if you find sth better, go somewhere else. Location is good, you can walk to the city center and it was the cheapest accomondation around. But its not very clean, the carpet seems old and dirty and the whole hotel has definately seen some better years! Breakfast was good, you need to go to the other hotel next door to have breakfast.

The hotel is located in the heart of Auckland City, in a quiet area. It is clean and provides personal hygiene amenities. The staff are helpful and accommodating. Rooms located at the back of the hotel offer a beautiful view of the Sky Tower. Parking is available at approximately $35 per night. There is also an elevator. What bothered me was the ventilation in the bathroom — the air coming from it was strong and cold, which was uncomfortable when taking a shower. Additionally, the internet allowance was very limited. During my three-night stay, I only received 10 GB in total — 5 GB per day — which meant there was no internet access on the third night. Although I didn’t actually use the full 10 GB, as I was out most of the day and only used the internet for less than 10 minutes each night before sleeping, I still ran out of data. I would kindly suggest offering guests a larger internet allowance for a more comfortable stay.

It is not that fancy unlike other hotels in its neighborhood but it is clean, very tidy and customer service is superb! they even gave us a courtesy call to make sure everything is fine when we got in the room which I did not experience in other 5 star hotels I visited. Kudos to the team especially the friendly receptionists Nikka and Ana at the buffet area.

Worst experience of a hotel in my entire life. I asked for a refund, the owner talked to me, gave me his personal email, then never replied to three emails, the manager cut my phone call off when I called him to follow up once again even five months later. My shower was cold, the air con didn’t work and some power plugs and more. I was assured from the reception that there was no other room choice available and that even though I made a complaint I could stay there and talk to the manager for a refund. The most unprofessional and disrespectful experience I have ever had and I travel for work frequently. I don’t recommend this to anyone. Not even a one star. Still after all this time, 5 months, no follow up has been done to update me, or refund issued.

I came to Auckland from Canada to visit some of my friends and stayed at this hotel for one night. Check in time is pretty late at 3pm, but the person at the front desk is pretty friendly. I understand that this is meant to be a cheaper hotel but place looks outdated. The walls are blue and the roof is pretty low. My room was so hot because I had no power over the ac and fan so I had to open the windows. Not to mention the room was super small, with room to only walk from your bed to the washroom. The washroom was actually pretty nice and looked modern. There was also a TV, a mini fridge and a coffee machine with a variety. I did not get a good night sleep for my flight back to Toronto because of the noise next doors and outside. The view was pretty good, with a good view of the Skyview tower and the waters. In the morning there was breakfast which I found pretty good. There are also vending machines which I bought a snickers bar from. Overall I would recommend staying at this hotel if you are looking for a cheap and affordable accommodation.

This hotel is frequently the cheapest to be found in Auckland on the various booking sites, so I have stayed here several times. For the money, a few imperfections are to be expected but its fine. I will only comment on my most recent visit, because earlier visits have faded from my memory. I actually stayed twice in the course of a week - for four nights and then a single night. That last night was in the standard Queen room: I have to say, it's pretty compact but it was comfortable enough. It's not a flash room by any means, but it was perfectly adequate and I had no problems with the internet, bathroom or TV. On my earlier visit, I had also booked a Queen room, but must have been given some sort of upgrade - because everything was bigger! In fact, I was surprised at how big the bathroom was (almost as big as their standard Queen room). The handbasin did have a crack, but everything else was fine. The bedroom was also bigger, with a decent place to put my laptop. I wouldn't say its the quietest hotel around - voices from inside the hotel could be heard, but I wasn't disturbed by them. It is off Queen Street, so there was no road noise to speak of. The staff member I encountered on my first night there was very friendly, and she always made a point of greeting me and making me feel welcome. When blokes were on the desk, they tended to ignore me.

Ascotia Off Queen hotel boasts a convenient location near the CBD, making it an ideal choice for exploring the city. While the rooms may be small, they are well-maintained and clean, with the added bonus of spacious and well-equipped restrooms. The hotel offers good facilities, although some noise can be heard on lower floors(our room at level 3). However, the standout feature is the exceptional staff who provide top-notch service. Commercial parking options are available nearby, and the hotel offers limited parking spaces for an additional $35(booking request). Overall, Ascotia Off Queen provides a comfortable and enjoyable stay with attentive service. Location: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Facilities: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Staff: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
