   Great hardware store awesome staff friendly and well trained average prices about the same as Mitre 10. They also offer a surprising range of unexpected items. With the new road between Queens Street and the Strand coming im very keen to see what the future holds for Wainuiomata Hammer Hardware. Recommended shop to visit for a wide range of needs. Update 12th May 2023 Earlier this year they redid the sorry looking garden by the side of the footpath with fresh bark chips and plants looks great and gave the entire area a big facelift. Its great to see the place coming back to life and alot more traffic, the strand was dieing for too long ever since United Video shutdown.

   All of the usual hardware basics: plus paint tinting, key cutting and gardening supplies. They also have a very reassuring refund/exchange system (keep your receipt). If you're a local: give them a look before you head over the hill to one of the big box stores.
