   Denny’s Porirua – Comfort, Consistency & Nostalgia I grew up visiting Denny’s in Auckland as a child, and walking into the Porirua Denny’s brought that same sense of nostalgia rushing back. I love that even after all these years, nothing has really changed — the menu, the plates, the atmosphere — it’s all wonderfully consistent and familiar. The staff at the Porirua location were kind and attentive, ensuring we were well looked after. While it can be a little pricey, I find it’s definitely worth it for a meal thats made with care and consistency. When I've visited, the restaurant is always clean, tidy, and usually nice and quiet, which makes for a relaxing dining experience. A classic that continues to deliver comfort food, good service, and that timeless Denny’s feel. Highly recommend the Porirua location!

   Ordered sirloin steak salad and chips for $37. Asked for a medium cooked steak and it came out super well done with a tired salad and chips. Did not have any sauce options except tomato ketchup in a bottle which would be fine if they were charging burger bar prices. Used bathroom after woods and no hand soap and the hand dryer didn't work. Mentioned the bathroom at the counter as I was paying and got a OK in reply. Mentioned the steak was over cooked and dry instead of medium and got OK THANKS in reply. Won't be back ever

   Came here for lunch and there was something gross in my salad, looked like a dead bug or fungus or something. Told the manager and asked what it was and he said it was probably something clumped up herbs from the dressing. That was a blatant lie as the salad dressing comes in a separate see through pot and there was nothing clumpy in it when I poured it. Very gross and unhygienic place.

   Dennys is the same aesthetically everywhere. However all the food at this one is cold. Eggs, chicken, pasta-even stuff served in a hot skillet was very cold. Would not order any hot dishes here. Maybe a nice salad with the 1 kind of dressing(french) . Very spendy-fish and chips cost more thN the Crab Shack..

   In the past we've found this Denny's to be hit and miss but the place has improved immensely over the past couple of years. There is something on the menu for everyone from vegetarian options, breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, Gold Card specials, kids and more! It's pretty good value for money if you have a large group.

   Came here for dinner tonight and the food was incredible!! Staff were nice the food was definitely the highlight! My partner and I had the honey chicken and garlic and her chicken with chips and salad the chicken was juicy and fresh, chips were delicious and not oily! When visiting Wellington next time we will definitely pop in! Wish we had of came in sooner before our trip was over would have loved to try more items on their menu!

   Great place for good food but not great food. You get what you pay for, but the service was perfect, tables were clean but worn. The decor needs updating its the same decor as it was from when I was in from 10 years ago. The place looks worn. Nothing the staff can do about that, but the food is better than last time.

   I ordered the chicken schnitzel.... definitely not ordering that thing again, it was gross. Almost as if they took it out the freezer and chucked it in the microwave. Lady who took our order was very polite & attentive though
