What a little gem of a place! The interior makes you feel as if youβre staying in the Swiss Alps in a sauna. The rooms are pretty basic but the cleanliness and service levels are better than some of the 5 star hotels Iβve stayed at in other countries. The rooms were serviced and cleaned daily. We asked for extra pillows and they were provided with a smile. Kitchen was well stocked. Location is really good as all restaurants within walking distance. Woolworths just around the corner so was easy to stock up on essentials. We forgot some medication in the fridge when we checked out and could only pick it up 3 days later, and they were happy to keep it in the fridge for us. Next trip to NZ I would book a 2 week holiday here as it was such a pleasure to stay!

Great little motor inn centrally located in Orewa, right near the beach and waterfront cafes and pubs.

This place is old and tired , microwave rusty , furniture very uncomfortable , having worked in a motel myself previously... this place needs to be closed down to have repairs done on and brought up to standards , the wifi is terrible, staff dont speak English

Great that it has facilities such as stove , oven, microwave, dishwasher. Only had one small heater but that turned out to be sufficient. Wifi was broken

The owners/management/staff clearly don't speak English, but don't let that put you off. Email communication was perfect. We had the 3 bedroom family unit which was huge and perfect for our family of 5 and dog. Walking distance to everywhere, rooms clean and well appointed. We will certainly stay here again if we are back in the area.

We stayed at the Orewa Motor Lodge for two nights (Fri/Sat). We wanted somewhere that we could just walk to restaurants and we were on a budget so price was also a factor. Prefect location, right in the middle of Orewa with heaps of dinning options all within a short walking distance and the price is pretty hard to beat :) Friendly welcome, the unit was abit dated but it was very clean and for the price I was more than happy. Would stay here again!

The woman who answers the phone is so RUDE. practically hung up on me. Sounds like she smokes a pack a day.

Units are so clean and comfortable and welcoming. Very conveniently placed, just over the road to the beach and playground, a short walk to cafes and restaurants, supermarket right next door. Very enjoyable stay, would definitely come back here!

The rudest customer service I have ever received! I stayed here with my 83 year old mother when we were travelling from England to visit family. Unfortunately, we were appalled and offended by how we were treated by the lady on reception. I politely asked how to lock the door to our room, as this wasn't a lock I've come across before (after being in the capentry trade for over 40 years) and her reaction was not only rude, she was extremely offensive and personal. I'm a recovering Stroke patient and explained that I find it hard to communicate, but rather than be supportive and patient with me, she just said offensive words including the phrase 'we have a name for your sort of people', but I left before allowing her to tell me what she calls 'us sort of people' as I already felt targeted. My mother is such a diplomatic lady and I've never known her to say a bad word about any one and even she was disgusted in this lady's behaviour. I can not believe she works in hospitality. The accommodation was fine, but I wouldn't recommend anyone to pay to stay somewhere that they will be treated this poorly. Reading the comments suggests we aren't the only ones she has mistreated.

Cheap, clean and cheerful. Love the Lockwood cabin feel. Unfortunately the spa looks as though it's been disused for a number of years which is a shame cos I chose this place because of it. Host was friendly but not overbearing. Wifi not complimentary. Lovely area close to the beach, supermarket and eateries.
