Woodside reserve is a cool spot, you can basically walk around the waterline of the inlet(s). Public park all round the waterline. There's a playground, flying fox etc. Heaps of space if you're a dog owner. Ecologically, there's a lot of work being done by volunteers and professionals to enhance the area (myself included). Look up Predator Free Waihuruhuru Creek if you'd like to get involved.
