I had a very disappointing experience at this store. I went back to return a product that wasn’t functioning properly, and even though I no longer had the receipt, I expected at least polite communication. Instead, the staff were extremely rude and unprofessional. They didn’t explain the policy respectfully and their attitude made the whole situation unnecessarily unpleasant. I understand if returns can’t be processed without proof of purchase, but the way customers are treated matters. A simple, polite explanation would have been enough. Unfortunately, I left feeling disrespected and frustrated. I won’t be returning to this store.

To the previous reviewer Nikky. I don't appreciate your accusations about me being rude and condescending. We have a store policy at the counter that states that you are not to open products, incase packaging is damaged, So if either myself or another staff member see that customers are attempting to open products, we are within our rights to ask you not to open the products before purchase as per store policy. Yes I may seem like a loud person, that is my nature, i'm not a quiet spoken person. I have regular customers that know me that come in the store everyday, have no issues with how I talk. We see people every single day open products, and items get damaged, and then cannot be resold. If you weren't intending to open the product, I apologise, but i don't appreciate the bullying accusation that I was rude and condescending when trying to do my job.

This was my first time at the store, and I was really impressed with the variety of affordable products—they’re great for the price, so I’d give five stars for that. However, there’s an older white lady working there who is downright rude and unnecessarily loud. I was holding a car charger while browsing other items, and out of nowhere, she yelled at me to not open it, even though I wasn’t. Her attitude was completely uncalled for—she’s condescending and rude to deal with. That said, the other staff members were polite and quite friendly. I’d recommend the store for its unbelievable cheap and decent quality products. Edit: Thank you for your response. While I respect the need to enforce store policies, I want to clarify the situation further. I was holding the car charger in my hand while browsing keychains, and at no point did I attempt to open the box. Your reaction—yelling at me out of nowhere—was unnecessary and felt like an overstep, especially when there was no indication I intended to violate the policy. This isn’t a matter of misunderstanding your "loud nature" but rather the unprofessional way the interaction was handled. Other reviews have mentioned similar concerns, so it seems to be a reoccuring issue. Customers should feel respected and welcomed, not publicly chastised for something they haven’t done. I stand by my feedback and hope you take it into consideration to improve future customer experiences. Thank you.

I Love This Store! The NZ Souvenirs in here are Cheaper Than Other Shops. I bought NZ T-Shirt ($10), Magnets ($2,5), Small Wallet to Save Cards ($2,5) and etc. Hope this shop add more souvenirs collection such as NZ Mug

The lady on the counter with purple hair was atrocious, rude, and condescending. My parents and I were shopping for souvenirs. Initially, I found and ash tray already opened. She then said loudly not to open without any intention of buying. That was fair and we apologised even when we were not the ones to open the ash tray in the first place. While we were looking for keychains, she told us not to block the way loudly. The store was small and we were in one hallway. We were not blocking the entrance at all. We felt insulted and we just bought what we had and instead of buying more, we just left. It felt that she was targeting us and getting us to leave. She could have approached in a friendly manner. We were not even rowdy at all and was just choosing souvenirs. We were very put off by the experience. I told the other cashier that their staff is rude and just said ok and did not even apologize. She was openly rude. It is disgusting behavior.

Young Māori girl who served us was nice, but the older Māori lady (manager I assume) with the purple hair was awfully rude, falsely accusing me of damaging stock! Manager was going on at the young girl also. Doesn’t such much about a workplaces culture when the manager/senior team member is a bully.

Love this shop. Bought heaps of $1 terry tea towels for all the family. The packs of 5 sisal fibre scouring pads for $2 are the best as environmentally friendly and scrub pots without scratching - less than half price of elsewhere. Pack of 3 bra extenders - a third of price elsewhere. So many bargains I always buy something whenever I go to Queensgate..

Completely disgusting service from the staff member named Lee. You should upper cut yourself and then give yourself a pat on the back for being rudest employee ever. If you don't want to work there then just leave ffs.

... the staff there are yeah.. what the other reviews say. The staff don't seem to want to socialise with you or anything. The store itself is great, its just the staff. The staff always ask if you need a receipt and that's about it. They never say hi, how are you or anything like that or even thank you haha, I don't think they even smile (only to their staff friends not the customers lol)
