Wicked view take your swimsuit its stunning! Definitely not wheelchair accessible or pram as there is ALOT of stairs but well worth it, plenty of parking and public toilets.

An amazing walk and beautiful waterfall at the end of the trail. Walk probably takes about 1 hour return.

G'day, waterfall chasers and Waitakere trekkers! If you're keen for a bit of bush magic and a proper stunning waterfall, Kitekite's your spot. Carpark has some spots but may fill up, you can park at the camp grounds nearby or alternatively Piha Beach BinkyT wishing you Happy Trails! Lush green bush, the sound of summer cicadas, and a waterfall that'll have your jaw dropping. It's a bit of a climb, yeah, but the reward is top-notch! Perfect for a day out with the whanau, or just to get away from the city buzz.

We were given some insider info that this walk reopened on Xmas Eve. It was a lovely bush walk to the pools - with LOTS OF STAIRS. We saw multiple families carrying strollers up the stairs which looked like incredibly hard work. Track is narrow in some parts too - mostly gravel. The top pools were a bit quieter and a bit of a hike to get too. Water is cold but refreshing. Rocks aren’t slippery and the swimming is good. The bottom pool is a lot busier but swimming is still great! All in all a great day out - but not ideal for those with disabilities or unfit.

What an amazing experience . Definitely worth going there. It is a kind of round trip. Take some time and swim in the pool.

Really beautiful! Might not be for all activity levels though. Very easy to slip on the section of rocks pictured, which you must cross to continue on the path.

Awesome waterfall, very crowded on the weekends. A lot of space for parking

The carpark for the falls. It is fairly big and there is another set of parking down the road in a big field. There are toilets here as well as the scrubbing station to get into the trails and waterfalls.

This is a wonderful hike! I was lucky enough to hike this three times while I lived in New Zealand for a year. The drive there from Auckland takes around 45 mins and the parking is not easy on a summer day so please take this into account. The hike to the falls from the trail head isn't far but at the moment I cannot remember how far. No more than a couple miles. There is also a station that requires you to spray your shoes before the hike and this is very common in New Zealand. The Kite Kite falls are gorgeous but the water is cold even in the summer so take this into mind. I loved every min of this hike and look forward to doing it again when I visit New Zealand.
