This place is unsafe and should be avoided. While the drinks may be cheap, it appears to attract predators who spike drinks. My daughter had her drink spiked over the weekend. Thankfully, she had already left the bar when the effects took hold. She collapsed and became non-verbal, but fortunately her friends were with her and were able to help her. Just stay away.

Sheri the manager, was rude uneducated and schooled by a bunch of 18 year old girls. She was unaware of the legal rules and refused to hand a passport back when it was demanded. We were told the passport would be given to the police station and instead shari held onto it and didn't give it to the police. This is a crime! The law says legal actions can be made and we will be. Lets vote get rid of sheri! (It took a while to get her name so we are attaching a photo in case she also lied about that). Side note: The person emailing was very rude and uneducated I felt as if I was talking to a toddler. We luckily videoed the whole conversation and have when Sheri told us one things and then lied to the police about what she said. We WILL get to the bottom of this.

This bar makes you question why you even left the house — 0 stars This isn’t a bar it’s a daycare run by wannabe cops. The bouncers walk around like they own the city but can’t even handle basic manners. Total vibe killers if you want fun, go literally anywhere else.

Being from Christchurch where this is unheard of and considered diguisting, a $10 cover charge is a bizarre, prickly concept. You'd never know, but they will whip out an eftpos machine so fast your neck will snap once you reach the front of that line of under-dressed, shivering newly-minted 18 year olds and smooth-faced boys. Student night is on Wednesdays so I've gotten in free the other times I have been. For free, the place is nice and does the trick, but paying any amount of money for the pleasure of entry alone makes me evaluate it far more harshly. Be aware of the cover charge. Otherwise is an ok club that happens to be swarming with almost disturbingly young first-year-at-uni types. Also God forbid you decide to insert your card to avoid the surcharge. I did this and got a "congratulations, you saved 15 cents". I see his point, but if you want to avoid penny-pinching misers like me clogging up the line, don't surcharge. We have to do it, it's a matter of principle. Also, I had one smug, overcoat-wearing tosser refused me entry because I had rings on. He goes, "let me see your hands". I show him, he looks into the sky contemplatively for about 30 seconds and says, "not tonight". I think I have a personal grievance with this one guy, he refused me entry the previous night as I had shorts on, despite the place onstensibly having no dress code.

Bar 101 is the ultimate spot if you’re looking for an affordable and lively night out in Auckland. The music is upbeat and caters to a variety of tastes, keeping the dance floor packed all night. The DJ really knows how to keep the energy alive! The drink deals are fantastic—definitely one of the more budget-friendly options in the city. The crowd is mostly young and energetic, making it a great place to let loose and have fun. That said, it can get pretty crowded, especially on weekends, so be prepared for a bit of a wait at the bar. The atmosphere is casual and vibrant, perfect for party-goers.

Hi there didn’t get let in because the bar manager didn’t love my pants? Even though the bouncer said he loved them? Can you explain what an appropriate outfit is?

Wanted to make a formal complaint on behalf of myself, and the 3 others I was with when we attempted to enter. I just find it perplexing that myself and 3 others were kicked out of the line before entering because the lady with glasses who was working entry on the night of 24/06/23 spotted my friend throwing their drink away beforehand. The reason this astounds me is due to the fact that just ahead of us in the line, was a group of people that were quite obviously rolling on MDMA, yet they were let in. Last I checked, MD is illegal, so please explain to me how this adds up. Cheers

Great place to go if you’re wanting a cheap night out. Was really happy to see the bouncers help me out after getting punched. Great atmosphere and a must do for international people coming in. Lot of respect to the bouncers for how they dealt with my situation and good chats I had with them in line

Bar 101 is my favourite club as I like my 90s dance music however it doesn’t give a welcoming feeling with security breathing down ya neck the djs are average as they seem to make big genre changes in the music and it’s obvious that people don’t like the sudden changes the bathrooms need a desperate renovation as the walls are torn apart and toilets are blocked all the time. Ventilation is alright it’s just open windows so ya gotta hope some wind comes through so you can cook down as it can get extremely hot inside but overall it’s a great place to start the night with the cheapest drinks in town and music to dance to
