Fantastic little cafe. Great vibe, good food at an extremely reasonable price. Would recommend.

What a great meal. We had a lamington, avocado toast and hot honey hummus toast , iced coffee and flat white. All of it was ahhhh-mazing. Highly recommend.

Incredible food! I want to try everything on the menu. The Berry Crumpet was mind blowing. Even the chocolate chip banana bread was spot on, and I'm pretty picky about banana bread. It has already won awards, so no need to go on about how great the avocado toast was. I love the fresh flowers on the tables and the bright light from the picture window made for a beautiful setting.

Awesome food and coffee with a quiet, tranquil atmosphere. The avocado toast was the best we ever had and the chicken salad sandwich was out of this world! Flat whites we ordered were perfect, had two more they were so good. Clientele on the day we visited was mostly mature, refined and well dressed, such a delight to see! Do yourself taste buds a favor and check this place out!

Definitely happy to stumble into this cafe just before closing time. Missed out on 2 items, I'm guessing their best sellers. Avocados on toast and chicken sandwich. The fruit toasts and pesto toasties were no disappointment either. Love the fact that the cafe is connected to a beautiful home design store. The pesto and gooey cheese was just simply delicious. Subtle flavour and yet punchy. The fruit toast had a balance of sweetness and the candied pecan.. wow!

Lovely coffee shop, sneaking between two main roads. I just walked past about to skip but decided to visit because my bus was not coming for another 37mins so why not. You should try this coffee.

I've been here 3 times and I've enjoyed it every time. The savoury dishes are excellent (special mention to the breakfast burrito), and at more than fair prices. Also, they add a generous portion of salad with the toast and that makes all the difference. I 100% recommend this hidden gem!

Only recently did I discover Squirrel despite having lived in Wellington for all my life - and wow, I have been missing out! The interior set up is perfect, meaning it is very spacious, and the decor is beautiful. The overall atmosphere is very calming, which made my experience there even more enjoyable. I didn't have much interaction with the staff, only at the counter to order my food and briefly when it was handed to me, but that doesn't really bother me - I come to eat the food rather than nit-pick the service. I ordered the granola bowl which was presented quite well. At first I was disappointed with the portion size, as it was extremely small. It was very affordable, being only $12.50, however I still feel as though the serving of each component could be increased. I am not even that big of an eater, yet I left feeling somewhat hungry. Maybe this is just because I am a granola connoisseur, but I feel as though this meal could be improved. My friend got the chicken focaccia sandwich from the cabinet (heated up), which no world of a lie was the best thing I have smelt for a very long time. It smelt exactly like KFC but one billion times better - I can't even explain it! Unfortunately I didn't get to try any, but from the smell of it, I assume that it would have been heavenly. I will definitely order this next time I come in.

Small, cute, and bustling with activity, Squirrel lives up to its name. We had a great brunch here with good food, coffee, and tea. I recommend Maudeβs chicken sandwich, which is named after the dog that lives at the shop next door!

Squirrel always has the best atmosphere. Itβs filled with sunlight and beautiful little vases of flowers. The cabinet has a good range of sweet, savoury, vegan and gluten free options. Highly recommend ordering one of the toast options. Theyβre super generous with toppings and the sourdough is nice and fluffy. Staff are also lovely and very professional. Couldnβt recommend enough.
