    POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE - Chemist Warehouse New Zealand. New Lynn Store Very Disappointed – Misleading Return Policy on Fragrances I am extremely disappointed with Chemist Warehouse’s return policy on fragrances and how poorly it is communicated to customers. The fragrance return policy is 7 days, which is different from other products, yet this is not displayed anywhere in-store, not in the fragrance department, and not communicated at the time of purchase. The only place it appears is on the receipt, which customers only see after they have paid. Customers are expected to notice and read a small return policy card at the counter, in tiny font, while people are waiting behind them. This is completely unrealistic and unfair. A major retailer should not rely on fine print and after-the-fact disclosures to enforce different return rules. To make matters worse, there is no signage at all in the fragrance section explaining that fragrances have a shorter return timeframe. When questioned, a team member even said “we can’t tell all customers it’s 7 days for fragrances” — which is exactly the problem. If customers aren’t told, how are they meant to know? Refusing a credit note or exchange on a fully sealed, unopened, gift-boxed fragrance is incredibly poor customer service, especially from a company of this size. This feels misleading and not customer-focused at all. Chemist Warehouse seriously needs to review how it communicates its return policies. Different rules for different products must be clearly displayed before purchase, not hidden on a receipt afterward. Very disappointed and will think twice before purchasing fragrances.     I am extremely disappointed with the service I received regarding a very simple and routine prescription for a codeine cough syrup. I was advised that it would take a full day to prepare this medication, which is completely unreasonable given that this is a commonly prescribed item and I was unwell and in need of timely relief. What was even more unacceptable was being told that I should not send prescriptions to Chemist Warehouse in the future, followed by a recommendation that the pharmacy would cancel the prescription altogether. This is not only poor customer service, but also highly unprofessional. As a patient, it is not my responsibility to manage internal pharmacy limitations or be discouraged from using a legitimate pharmacy of my choice. Advising a patient to cancel a valid prescription rather than offering a practical solution shows a lack of care, empathy, and professionalism. The entire interaction felt dismissive and unsupportive, particularly given that this was for a medication prescribed by a doctor for an acute condition. I expected efficiency, clear communication, and patient-focused service — none of which were demonstrated. This experience has significantly reduced my confidence in your service, and I will seriously reconsider using or recommending this pharmacy in the future.

    Some staff members are friendly, courteous, talkative and caring, while some are just plain rude. She miss heared my last 4 digits but blame and scold me saying that I say the wrong numbers; also if you need to get things done fast, better stay away from this one. My doctor sent the prescription 30 mins ago, and I told them that I'm coming in 15 mins; but they only get the prescription when I was at the pick up counter and I need to wait again. What's the point of having the prescription sent electronically if you only check it when the patient arrived to pick it up and have to spend more time to wait? Only because of those kind staff members that I still gives 4 stars, otherwise it'll be 1 star.

    Horrible service! We bought a blood pressure monitor that was faulty. Being a pharmacist myself I know 100% 70/50 readings eight times in a row are very strange and abnormal. Went in on Saturday to sort the matter out. After being told we don’t know how to use it the lady said she could only send the monitor to the manufacturer and can’t do anything else for us. We said okay and were alright to wait. On Monday we got a call that our blood pressure monitor was ready, when presented at the shop we were informed it was not sent to the manufacturer. Instead it sat there over the entire weekend while staff kept trying it themselves and decided that it’s not faulty. So what was the point of lying to a customer? It was not sent to the manufacturer like you had said so instead you kept it and decided on your own it’s not faulty. The lady at the desk was saying 70/50 readings are not abnormal…. Absolutely hilarious! They wouldn’t let us return or exchange it now that’s it’s been opened and played around with by staff? Please educate your staff and don’t lie to customers.

    i asked for a medicine for urinary tract and asked a lady there to show me where the product is on my phone and without even looking at it properly (if she would she would read it saying Urinary stuff) she asked me to go to isle 5, which is all skin care products. I wish you guys have a little bit patience for the customers you guys have a big range and sometimes its really hard to find the products. And funny Enough my wife was saying the same lady was being pretty rude with an elderly person when he was asking about a prescription, saying she’s not a doctor hence she can help,

    Took a product up to the counter that was advertised on the shelf as 6.99$. Cashier asked if I was sure that the sign said 6.99$, I replied “ yes it says $6.99 “ - I even had a photo to show the cashier with short hair. She then told me that the sign showing $6.99 wasn’t taken down in time and that promo ended 2 days ago, and that I couldn’t buy it for $6.99. I tried to state that if a product is advertised for 6.99$ she’d have to sell it for that price due to consumer laws. She didn’t want to listen to any of that. Instead she continued to be very rude and proceed to ignore me. I wasn’t too happy with her customer service and ended up speaking to the male security guard who was very helpful and who kindly led me to the manager. Manager was friendly and helpful. She sold the product to me for (6.99$). Chemist Warehouse New Lynn - please educate your employers regarding consumer law agreement acts and to also be kind.
