   I purchased a Sundowner Hooded Jacket from Macpac Queensgate in early March this year. After just three months of use, the inner padding started leaking out. I took it back to the store for a warranty repair, and the salesperson assured me it would be sent to Christchurch for fixing, with an estimated turnaround of 4 weeks. After 4 weeks, I followed up, only to be told it might take 6 weeks. When I checked again two weeks later, I was shocked to discover that my jacket had never been sent for repair—it had been sitting in the store the entire time! The staff then casually told me that the padding issue is "common" and that I could just "push it back in" if it happens again. This was incredibly frustrating. If this was their advice all along, they could have told me six weeks ago—saving me the hassle and leaving me without my jacket for half of winter. Terrible communication, lack of accountability, and a complete waste of my time. Very disappointed with how this was handled.

   Its great that they have extended their Black Friday sale to Tuesday 03/12, so it has enabled my wife to shop leisurely without having to compete with the crowd. Sales staff friendly and efficient. My wife bought a halo hooded jacket and a vest. Good value !

   Was looking for a jacket and not once did either of the two staff members come up and offer some help and we were the only customers in the store. They kept staring and the female staff walked past chewing away on gum and looking. We walked out of the place. No wonder retailers are going bust with the incompetent staff like these two

   My go - to place for outdoor attires and equipments. They have many outdoor products for various purposes. I love the jacket and the rainwear. We also got the thermal layers and merino blend here. They come in different models, colors and specification depending on your needs. Camping gears are also complete, from tents, sleeping bags to mosquites and sandflies repellent. This store is not as big as the one in Petone but it’s located in the mall so it’s very convenient. We can be members to get more discounts. The staff is friendly and helpful as well.

   Some time ago I brought in my puffer jacket to be mended after it got ripped when I was knocked to the ground in a car accident (thankful for a quality jacket that helped cushion my fall). The staff were really lovely and the team in Chch who did the repair did a wonderful job, and charged a very reasonable fee. Love my jacket, it keeps me super warm even on the coldest winter days and it’s lasted for years. Thanks heaps ☺️

   Beware if you using afterpay here. You will get charged twice and the shop assistants won't even tell you. Just as well I had an email from afterpay. That's it from me. Goodbye macpac Queensgate, hello macpac Petone.

   My husband and I were served by a really lovely attendant today. His name is Anthony , and he works at Queensgate Mall in Lower Hutt. He is a friendly, sincere young man, knows his job, and a real pleasure to have been served by, so much so, that we went back later and bought something else from him. Highly recommend, as it's lovely to see someone with a smile on their face.
