I just got back from Paris where my friends introduced me to the party dish known as raclette, and my daughter and I loved it so much I looked around for a raclette maker for Christmas. I found the *same exact* model that my friends used at Le Marché and am thrilled with it. The shop has *adorable* housewares and dishes and kitchenware too. I have my eye on their Little Prince dishes, and there’s so much stuff to love if you love French food, meats and cheeses. I can’t wait to come back. I hope the photos I’ve posted help you find the shop as it’s not on street level (and their nicely designed sign is only displayed on the planters outside). It’s actually on the 1st floor to your left of the elevator, surrounded by distinctly non-restaurant’y businesses. But it’s worth the visit and I’m so glad I found this place in Thorndon Quay. My wife and I are looking forward to returning to try their French onion soup, bœuf bourguignon and other delectables. Such a beautifully arranged shop.

The cafe is a mixed bag - the quiche is the best I've had, but the croissants/sweet pastries aren't very nice. I had an almond croissant and even after toasting it was kinda soggy, and the filling was unlike anything I've had, almost eggy in flavour? There's one really friendly barista and he makes great coffee, but the other staff I've encountered are bordering unfriendly.

I’ve always known this place was here, but ventured in for the first time recently. A wonderful selection of cheeses and meats, and other French-themed food and non-food. Incredibly helpful and friendly staff. I’ll be back to try the café, which was packed at lunchtime and looked very inviting.

Had the most delicious Beef Burgundy I’ve ever had in my life with a beautiful cheese platter and wine. The staff are lovely and passionate about what they do. Would highly recommend!

Had a delicious lunch from the salmon quiche but would give average to the creme brulee. I've to say all the tarts and quiches look delicious, will be keen to try them.

French pancakes with maple syrup was just perfect for a brunch catch up with friends. Sat and had several coffees in a very relaxed environment while we caught up on all the gossip

This place is a hidden gem, because it's actually hidden in an old building in a high end mall. I would prefer if it was set on a nice terrace like on a busy "Parisian" street however, do not fret, you can still get a taste of France there, I promise. We received a very enjoyable service with multilingual staff! Oui, you can definitely be served in Français there. The food is delicious! We had the Roquefort and Leek Tarte... Amazing! That thing packs a lot of flavor. The Canard Confit was a delight, served with duck fat potatoes, a small salad and some baguette. The coffee was on point and arrived promptly. Crème Brulée and Almond Croissants as desserts were so well worth it! I will surely be back there soon. Merci et à bientôt! * I will post more photos next time

Delicious homemade French food such as tarte tatin, quiche, brulée and other classic French delights. Coffee was good and service excellent. They brought our quiches out and waited until we'd finished before bringing our sweet tarts, rather than loading up our table all at once. The ambience was nice too. Cost for two, including one coffee and a bottle of mineral water, was $58.50. Next to the café is Le Marché deli with a wide range of gorgeous cheeses, chocolate, jams, condiments and all sorts of things. We couldn't help but stock up! Note there's a range of olive oil from Crete that's currently half price as it's past its "best before" date.
