I would rate my experience two and a half stars. My pet's surgery went well, but the nail trimming was minimal; I expected more. Despite being under sedation, the operation took only forty-five minutes instead of the three hours for recovery I was told. I traveled round trip from Millwater to Auckland in one hour fifteen when I could have done shopping in Silverdale while waiting.

Worst vet experiences ever here... I've occasionally had to take my dogs when nobody else was open. Brett the owner (of Manly, Orewa and Manly) is money hungry, doesn't care at all about animals welfare or consider a holistic approach he's all about bringing in the $$$ and surgery. Will happily exploit your vulnerability when you're worried about your animals. I've never known a vet with so little to say, who goes straight to the option of surgery, and who is happy to charge so much. My last consult - Easter Friday, a 10 minute consult where I wasn't given any advice or follow up - $340 consult fee + medication. When i said i wouldn't pay that he instantly changed it to $240! That's $24 a minute i paid for nothing i could trust so now going elsewhere to have a proper consultation and discussion about options. Have reported this instance to Commerce Commission as surcharge should reflect costs incurred, not a made up amount to exploit people on public holidays. Unfortunately it wasn't the first negative experience with this practice so DON'T RECOMMEND AT ALL. Go to Whangaparaoa Vets or Glenfield Vets - they actually care about animals and spend time to talk thorough least to most invasive options.
