   We have recently stayed at the Ohtel on two occasions, and unfortunately, our interactions with Luke at reception have not been positive. His demeanor has been unprofessional, rude and dismissive. On our most recent visit, we arrived early and, as our room was not yet ready, enjoyed a late lunch in the Viaduct. During lunch, Luke called to advise that our room was ready, only to discover upon arrival that he had since allocated it to someone else. This was particularly disconcerting. When we expressed our frustration – especially as we were still without a room at 3:45 pm for a 4:30 pm event – we were accused of being disrespectful. This behavior is unacceptable and certainly unwelcoming. Due to repeated issues on both stays, we have decided to cancel our upcoming bookings at the Ohtel to avoid further interactions with Luke and will be staying at a nearby alternative. This is particularly disappointing, as we genuinely appreciate the hotel itself and have had positive experiences with all other staff members. We sincerely hope that Luke will adjust his attitude in the future. We may consider returning at some point, with the hope that his behaviour has improved.

   The staff here is amazing! Everyone is extremely friendly and attentive, and it’s in a perfect location - just next door to Viaduct Harbour where all the restaurants are but we couldn’t hear any noise in our room, which was great. The parking is easy, although you do need to reserve that beforehand, and the breakfast was delicious. We enjoyed the pool, hot tub and sauna as well. Perfect boutique hotel and would definitely stay here again!

   Staff was absolutely amazing, all that we dealt with. They genuinely care and want the customer to have a great experience. Location is perfect and peaceful. The complimentary welcome drink is a wonderful detail. Rooms are very comfortable and clean. Very nicely designed. Super convenient parking. The only thing is the bathroom is not very private so we can only come back when the child is not with us. A turn table and vinil records in the room is a great detail. TV has free on demand movies that we have not seen in much pricier hotels in NZ.

   This place is so good. I stayed here while on a business trip and found the hotel perfect. Easy friendly check in, a lovely room with everything I needed. I ordered from the room service menu and was pleasantly surprised by the burger and chips, simple, cost effective, nourishing and just what I needed. The staff here are so genuinely accommodating and friendly. I will be back.

   Great suite, the self standing bathtub and the record player were nice additions. Our suite also had a fairly big patio even though it was too cold in Auckland to enjoy it but would be perfect during summer. They even had a pillow menu from which you could order with your desired shape / firmness. The only con is that it’s not that central but you just have to walk 10 minutes to get to the main street.

   Ohtel is a beautiful place to stay with retro, sleek and clean rooms. We stayed for 2 nights in the Sullivan suite. The staff were amazing and the plate of cakes and candle in the video below is what one of the staff made up for my wife when we came back from dinner and she found out it was her birthday. Was such a lovely place to stay and situated right near the restaurants along the waterfront. We will definitely stay here again.

   We have been in many AKL hotels for get aways and this one came up so we thought why not. Bit unusual for us as it is a boutique hotel, no buffet breakfast and not a well known chain (at least not to me). Location is perfect with a mall just up the road where there is a food court and plenty of restaurants within a 5 min walk. Service was fantastic and people awhile greet and serve were really helpful. Room was clean and funky. Not the usual bland room but I say that in the best way. Breakfast was great and would definitely come back here again. Thanks for having us for a much more unique place to stay than the normal hotel. A++++

   Our stay at Ohtel was thoroughly enjoyable. The rooms were spotless and very comfortable. Location was great we had a lovely view of the sky tower. Room service was quick and easy using the ipad to call reception to bring some milk up in the morning. Would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in The Auckland CBD.

   This was a fantastic hotel! It was walkable to anywhere in city center, and just steps from a beautiful waterfront with great restaurants. However, it was set a bit away from the hustle and bustle in a nice, quiet area. The staff was wonderful; in fact, we didn’t even ask, but they checked us in early and even moved our luggage (in lobby storage) to our room for us while we were at lunch, which was a huge help for our noticeable jet lag! The rooms are very spacious, with a little sitting area, and with modern amenities.

   Fabulous service throughout the entire stay. A well appointed room with so many fabulous little touches; the minibar, chrome casting with the tv, robes, quality tea, recycling options for rubbish in the room. The most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in at a hotel! Will definitely stay again. A true kiwi gem.
