A group of 4 of us had a wonderful long lunch with Natalia and Karl and the Engine Room team. I think we shared just about everything on the menu and it was all superb, as was the service and wines
The food and experience was incredible. Rohit our server was welcoming, attentive and clearly had a passion for food which he could share with us throughout our meal. All our courses were delicious and memorable, the king prawn salad transporting you through your taste buds to Bali and the lamb rump melts in your mouth. Dessert was perfect to end on a sweet note before walking out very satisfied. A wonderful experience whatever the occasion and highly recommended!
We love coming to The Engine Room and often choose it to celebrate our memorable dates. The food has never disappointed – always delicious, balanced, and thoughtfully prepared both gastronomically and nutritionally. What we really value here is the consistency: service is attentive, the atmosphere feels special, and the flavours are always in harmony. These may sound like simple things, but they’re surprisingly hard to find elsewhere. And of course, the goat cheese soufflé is a must-try dish!
Amazing amazing amazing! If only we lived here this would be our regular spot. What a beautiful little Eatery, with an incredible menu- I wanted to order one of everything! The flavours were so layered, every bite was different. We were in a rush and they accommodated to ensure we left on time, but I'm keen to return for desert later tonight. The waitstaff were welcoming and considerats, Rohit offered lots of options and was very knowledgeable about the menu. My favourite place to dine in Auckland.
Our go to for fine dining is always "The Engine Room." We can never go past celebrating our Wedding anniversary here. Natalie, Carl and their team take the experience of dining to another level. The food is always out of this world. The famous goats cheese souffle is famous for a reason.
Amazing food as always, I had the goats cheese souffle as I always do and it consistently impresses me. It tasted a bit different this time, but still just as good. I had the venison which was a special, though I would love to see it on the permanent menu as it was truly amazing, it would be my go to main if it were not on the specials menu. 10/10 go here quite often now and it never disappoints.
Enjoyed the experience. Tasty food, good service, and a cozy atmosphere. Beautiful both inside & outside. It was the right decision to cross the road after a movie and go for dinner.
Our food was exquisite. The beef cheek special was next level. They do a simple, solid menu at the Engine Room but it's done really well. Must make a special mention to the wait staff, the lady who served us was absolutely brilliant, that perfect mix of professional but with enough fun to make it feel cool and special.
Finally made it to The Engine Room..it was a busy Saturday evening and we were seated near the kitchen end where we could see the kitchen staff prepping the food.Staff are very polite and attentive.The chalboard has the food menues listed so everything has to be read off the board.We ordered Fish crudo and smaoked snapper and goats cheese ravioli which was scrumptious. Mains were the Snapper and lamb, both fishes were full of flavours and plated beautifully. We decided to try the quince crumbles with vanilla ice cream to fisnish of with a dessert wine.Wonderful ambiance .Minor issue was finding parking on a busy Saturday evening but apart from that everything was wonderful. Worth a visit for all foodies..
Everything is perfect here. The taste and appearance of food. my best restaurant. All the staff are so kind. I was so happy while staying here. I'm going again next week. five stars are not enough.
