   Had to go in at 10.00 pm last night (Christmas day!) when my gallstones proved that they don't like Christmas ham. The staff were fantastic, from the wonderful nurse at triage and the admin ckark, to all the techs and nurses and doctors who made sure that I was comfortable and pain free. I was listened to, treated with care and respect, and was managed so well on what must have been a night when so many there would have preferred to be home with Family. Every person I dealt with, and who dealt with me, was just fantastic. North Shore A&E, you guys are angels in scrubs. Keep up the wonderful work!

   Recently, I visited the North Shore Hospital emergency department due to issues with my stomach, and I had firsthand experience with the hospital’s medical staff. They were professional, efficient, and kind. The waiting time was brief, and various examinations were conducted promptly. Injections and medication were administered in a timely manner. After being transferred to the hospital ward, I was then moved to the Toru ward. The nurses like Victoria were highly professional and friendly. The surgery took place the next day, and the medical staff in the operating room were excellent. I would like to express my gratitude for this. My recovery has been good, and once again, I thank all the medical staff who provided care during my treatment.

   North Shore Hospital I recently had an extended stay at North Shore Hospital, and I can’t say enough good things about the entire team. From the moment I was admitted, the staff were incredibly caring and attentive. They truly went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and well taken care of. Every nurse, doctor, and support staff member showed genuine compassion, and it was clear they really cared about my recovery. I’m incredibly grateful for their professionalism and kindness during a pretty tough time. Huge thanks to everyone there, you all made a big difference! Definitely a five-star experience.    I had my first baby here and what can I say.. I had the best experience thanks to all the nurses and the staff. I initially wanted to go to birth care straight away, knowing that I’m not a fan of the hospital. However, this mindset has changed quickly. The staff were so kind, empathetic, warm and encouraging. I don’t know what more I could’ve asked for. Just very grateful to have had the experience and feeling supported with my new born baby. Thank you.

   Absolutely Outstanding Care – Forever Grateful! I want to sincerely thank every single staff member at North Shore Hospital who looked after me in the Emergency Department and the ward. From the moment I arrived, I felt safe, respected, and genuinely cared for. The nurses, doctors, and support staff were incredibly professional, kind, and attentive—truly going above and beyond. Their compassion and dedication left me speechless. I’ve never experienced such outstanding medical care and human kindness in one place. I honestly believe no one could do a better job than them. I was treated not just as a patient, but like family. May God bless them always for the amazing work they do, day in and day out. North Shore Hospital – thank you from the bottom of my heart. You are a true gift to our community.

   They are understaffed and crazy busy, that being said the Nurse's are so kind they make you feel like you are the only patient there. When you do finally see a Dr they too are fantastic, empathetic and take the time to answer all of your questions. The level of abuse that these front line health professionals get makes me feel like we are not in New Zealand, patients there are rude, demanding and in some cases physically abusive to the staff. Its little wonder that all of our health professionals are leaving for AUS because who would want to work with third rate equipment and get abuse from people all day. Shall we just get on with it (fix their pay so they stay here) and remember we are a community and treat everyone with dignity and respect.

   This rating is for the incredible team in the Maternity Ward, Birth Suite and SCBU! My baby was born 6 weeks early, from the gentle comfort from the midwifes of being told I was having unexpected c section from the birth suite to the lovely nurses who looked after me post surgery I thank you for being amazing and caring during this traumatic time for me! Now SCBU! Every single one of the nurses who looked after my boy for 4 weeks, took care of him while I was home, kept him safe and constantly told him how cute he was. But especially, for helping me get through tough times by comforting me while I was in tears majority of the time…I will FOREVER be thankful and in awe of you all! My boy is here, I’ve recovered well because of all the incredible nurses in all 3 zones! So thank you!

   I had the best experience here in elective surgery. I had a lump in my breast removed and even the appointments I had leading up to this surgery were all wonderful. From the receptionists to the nurses and doctors. Not one second did I feel uncomfortable. A appreciate absolutely everyone I met really tried to pronounce my name correctly! My surgery went super well. They really make sure your cosey before they put you to sleep so your not nervous at all. Felt very safe and I also suffer from anxiety so that says alot. Thank you again to the surgeon team, nurses and receptionists!

   July 2023 I have been coming to the Cardiology department for 10 years. The frequency of my visits have been at 6 and 12 month intervals. I have always felt that the staff in this department were friendly, professional and caring on each occasion. My cardiac condition means that I will continue to visit here for a while longer. I believe that they staff are doing their best to keep me in a healthy state. Therefore they are part of a competent team keeping me in the best possible state of being healthy.

   Just want to acknowledge the nurses in the gynae ward for their care while I was in there two different times over the last month. I especially want to mention Nurse Charlotte while I stayed, both times she was so genuinely caring and is a credit to the hospital. I felt really listened to and you can tell she genuinely cares about her patients so please pass this on to her, (she will probably remember me as the dog groomer who unfortunately ended up having covid the first time I was in which prevented my surgical procedure from going ahead so I had to come back a few weeks later to have the surgery). All the staff I had dealings with both times I was in were amazing, the doctors orderlies etc and made me feel safe and looked after. Thanks so much! Hayley.
