   DO NOT RECOMMEND - our stay here was very disappointing. The manager speaks limited English, the room was dirty and in need of a lot of work, no milk provided for tea/coffee, stove top severely cracked, holes in carpet, no shower curtain, old towels with pulls and rips, lawns not mowed and painters tape left up in the bathroom partially blocking a fire alarm. Wish we had the option of not staying here as we hated it from the moment we arrived, but unfortunately there was no where else to stay. Looking at the reviews now, its clear the owner/manager does not care about the state of the motel or guest feedback. Do not stay!

   We booked overnight and we were given rm2 the room looked clean but something was off and it smells really bad like rubbish and flies was hanging around the room that I was getting nauseous. So I told the staff and was given rm3 and it also smelt but more oily like cooking oil. The heatpump needs servicing for both rooms and smells. We bring our own blankets and pillows so we didn't need to use the room provided. Spa is the only thing that worked well. Not worth the $200 per night. Everything on the reviews is pretty much on pa with what I seen.

   The buildings are getting a bit tired however a major bonus was the natural springs private spa (not all rooms) It fills with very hot spring water and if you've got the time it's best to fill it 3 hours before you're going to use it so it can cool down without needing to dilute it with fresh cold water.

   Wish we’d read reviews, unfortunately the experience was not what we expected on arrival room smelt musty, wifi not good - Fridge wasn’t working & was mouldy lots of damage to walls etc, broken fixtures, window latches, Conditioner bottle broken & in the hand basin drawer, Toilet brush covered in paper1x coffee sachet, no milk, very tired & in need of a facelift, bed was comfy but we were worried about bed bugs. private spa & spa bath were great, spa pool area needs a good clean with wet n forget, Lady on reception no English- appalling, stayed 7 yrs ago was not in this condition then, unlikely to stay again

   What a major disappointment and so overly priced for a below standard motel, clearly these owners don't care about cleanliness or hospitality. But we had no choice but to take the room as it was late. The room reeked of chemicals and mold, so we left the door opened most of the night. The ceiling was filthy above our bed, the smoke alarm in the kitchen was about falling off. The kitchen cook top had a large crack from top to bottom, you could easily cut your hand when cleaning it, had a dirty fry pan so we had to scrub it, the cutlery was all bits and pieces not even a full set, one teaspoon, no knife to cut veges, and had to use a bread knife instead, there was no chopping board. My partner who's is a clean freak and a great cook, basically had to clean the best she could. There was only half a roll of toilet paper as we found out at 3am in the morning, the toilet wasn't flushing, properly so we had to listen to the toilet water all night. And isn't it standard for a motel to provide their guest with milk for a cup of tea or coffee? Considering their rates were very high When we did ask for milk she reluctantly went to the laundry to give us some milk in a cup. My advice is save your money and book somewhere else. I'm very surprised the motel association is letting this place still operate or, at the very least, the health authorities inspect the motel. This is definitely the worst motel I have stayed in and such a shame that people and tourists who are visiting the area experience this sub-standard motel.

   There was no welcome letter to let me know check out time or how to contact anyone. There was no toilet paper when I arrived so I had to wander around the place trying to find someone to help me. The spa bath didn't work and there were no instructions or indication that it was broken. Two packets of coffee were opened in the tray on the kitchen counter when I arrived and it was wet and sticky. There was someone's old hairbrush in the bedside table. There were no towel rails and only two bath towels -- no hand towels or wash cloth. The bathroom amenities (shampoo, conditioner, soap) were attached to the shower wall and were horrible, not as shown in their pictures. No one was in the office when I checked in and when I left. There was a pool (spa?) but no signage or any information about times of operation or how to use it. There was a hole (burn mark?) in the decorative bed cover. There were no blankets and I couldn't get the heat pump to blow warm/hot air – I own a heat pump so I know how to use the controls. There were two little windows in my room that were near the floor – very strange! The view from my balcony is of a construction site and a spa across the road – not the beautiful view shown in their photos. The free Wi-Fi kept dropping out so I gave up using it. The only thing nice about the place was the pretty garden and the bed was comfortable.

   Absolutely terrible service booked through Expedia had a price and a quote to pay as we arrived the business Then tried to charge there own desired price and rip my elderly parents off when requested to speak to the owner/boss the woman that was working on the 5/5/2023 at 2:30 pm then said she does not have to provide them with any contact details as she is not allowed to and was obnoxiously rude and not understanding at all we tried to give her the proof and she denied everything and was still trying to get $280 dollars from my parents when we had the booking and receipts for $173.90 they then took it upon themselves to then take $280 out of my father’s accounts without permission and when my parents requested a refund they denied giving it back through card and gave cash this business is dirty and a scam and will be taken to the fair trades act !!!!!!! NOT TO MENTION IT WAS ALSO HER BIRTHDAY DISGRACEFUL .

   Very disappointed in our stay here..The water was cold so unable to have a hot shower or spa bath..we boiled the kettle for hot water, contacted the managers who told us to turn the tap on and off again..made the water temp worse. Stains on the carpet basin in bathroom didn't drain very well and we had to put the bedspread across some very low windows as to much light in the night and only frosted glass. The bed linen was lovely and fresh, but could have done with an extra towel each, 1 flannel and handtowel between us..the heat pump ran cold and wouldn't warm up. For us to get away and stay anywhere is a treat..sadly this wasn't. Oh and wasn't sure if we were allowed to use the pool as people in there with a dog

   There were NO HIGHTLIGHTS to staying at Parakai Springs Lodge, in fact we didn't stay. The unit was like being in an old ashtray, blood stains on door, skirting boards, bed, dirty fridge. Asked for refund which has not been forthcoming. Room was disgusting, only in room 20 minutes and decided couldn't stay in those conditions. The photos and text on their website does not portray the true state of this establishment and conditions. This is not a 4 star establishment as they state, lucky to make 1 star.

   I had been wary of booking here reading some of the other reviews but my stay way great! Nice place, clean rooms, the private spa was the highlight. Nice staff and in an area that felt safe to leave my vehicle outside. Thanks for a great stay
