Can’t recommend highly enough - had a blow dry with Josh which was a great experience, super relaxing with great tips for my hair and a fab end result. He clearly knew his stuff and the whole environment was lovely (free tea and chocolate also a bonus)

I came in today for first time for a haircut with Connor. He spotted on my idea of giving me layers and movement. I love my hair! He is fantastic! The saloon is really nice and they really look after you, everybody seems friendly. I felt great. Thank you team! I'll be back.
Connor was fantastic! I came in for a cut — to liven up my hair but keep most of the length. Connor is sweet and kind but he wields his scissors with mighty precision and the eye of an artist! He also gave careful attention to the specific needs of my hair. I don’t think I’ve ever loved my hair this much! I also really liked the whole vibe of the salon. There’s a high fashion edginess to the look but it’s still super approachable and welcoming. I wish I lived in Wellington so I could be a regular client!
Outstanding hairdressing. Not many people get how my hair works, but Josh totally gets me. Takes years off my look! Also, love it that Chop is pet friendly - great to say hi to Alfie when he's in residence. recommended.
I went to Chop for the first time yesterday as it was conveniently close to work and had good reviews. I went in for a standard cut with Jake but he got it exactly how I wanted it (which hasn’t always been the case at previous salons) and will definitely be going back for the customer service alone. The salon was a very peaceful environment and I usually get quite nervous going to new hairdressers for the sole reason of having to talk to a stranger for an hour however Jake made me feel instantly comfortable and was a wonderful person to talk and have a laugh with. Will definitely be going back and recommend this salon to others.
I came in needing my hair fixed from another salon, and Jake literally rescued my hair. I can’t thank him enough for his time, patience and great customer service. Shout out to the super lovely team at Chop and Jake for making me feel great again and for being able to fix a haircut I thought was unsalvageable!!!
Brie is fantastic! I’ve been getting my ridiculous curls cut with her for two years now and she always does a wonderful job. Friendly, accommodating team, great peppermint tea and cold brew – couldn’t recommend more!
I've been going to Josh at Chop for over a decade and have recommended him to countless friends and family members. He has seen my hair through my entire twenties and into my thirties now, always giving me great cuts that maintain really well. He has worked with me at many lengths (one of my favourites was a very cool pageboy style with the cleanest undercut) and is a total wizard at colour, having taken my dark blonde/ brown hair to platinum and different shades of copper and auburn over the years; colours that always got big compliments. When I lived in Auckland I would wait until a trip to Wellington to make sure Josh was cutting my hair, and randomly had a colleague who also regularly flew to Wellington to see Josh! He has taught me tonnes on what works with my very fine hair and has been fantastic at giving me heavy bangs or all the way to my current favourite of a split fringe. I love his down-to-earth approach and great chats. Overall, love Chop as a salon for it's minimal style, nice drinks and always excellent music.
