This supermarket sells beef mince that is brown and they add red dye to the surface to fool customers. Their product range is very limited but they have a lot of goods you would not expect and don't want. Basic staples are not stocked so it makes me have to shop at Woolworths as well. Very short queues at the checkout to be served but very poor customer service as the staff don't know how to pack groceries. They keep moving everything so it is hard to find what you want. Aisles are congested by stock trolleys with no staff in sight. You can wait at the deli a very long time before being served so not worth trying. At best you can do a half shop here, so I'd rather go the New World Tawa and do a full shop.

I do not recommend getting any fruit or vegetables here. You either get home to find the things like strawberries have been positioned so they look good but are rotten underneath, cucumbers are slimy once plastic is removed and anything else, if it’s good the day you buy it, it’s off by the next morning. Extremely disappointing and as a long time resident and customer, I won’t be returning. It pains me to not support local but I’ve lost too much money from issues like these at this supermarket
Rudeness self check out Indian lady ever,interrupting while me talking ,no smile ,no service ,judge by outfit to ask ID and even ask all the people’s ID first time went the supermarket ,even the second time only me and she still asked another one’s ID.very rude attitude ,she even assumed that she saw my partner sit in the car ,but the truth is I parked somewhere very far and it’s impossible to see where is my parked.But I have a question,does self check out lady just stand outside the door and starring the customer parking and check if the customer bring someone with them ? What a funny joke ,does New World made employee training or just hire anyone who doesn’t know the service to work in a supermarket?
Great supermarket! Everyone is nice and friendly, one of the staff I have become friends with other the years since I was really little! I love the bakery, it has the best loose danish pastries!
Very excellent supermarket. The selection is great, as all supermarkets inflation is present, but it is well stocked. The bakery is always well stocked, and they serve some delicious baked goods. Ones I would recommend are the Savory Panini, just save some for me. They are my absolute favourite, and the sole reason why I keep coming back. The deli has a pretty good selection, they could have more variety of cheeses, but they have good selections of quality meats. Produce is always clean, and plentiful, and they also have expanded their pet food and pet accessories isle, which is great, and they now have options to buy singular treats for dogs. Great overall 10/10
The store itself is a standard very clean and tidy NW supermarket. However, it has some unacceptably high prices, especially the hot food! (even pre-cost of living crisis). Please avoid prepacked produce when possible.
My Wife received the most disgusting treatment from an Indian woman atthe self service checkout. She was accused of not scanning a $2 bag of lollies in front of all the other shoppers. After they finally printed the receipt it was only then that they admitted they were wrong and she had paid for the lollies. We have shopped their for over 10 years every day and know most of the staff by name. Its a pity that one staff member causes so much damage. In future we will be shopping at the Newlands store.
