Here is how a simple pickup turned into a disaster at 1058 Beach Road: 1. Complete Lack of Priority: I politely asked for an ETA and was told "not long." After waiting 15 minutes with no movement, I realized my order was being ignored every time a walk-in customer entered. I asked if Uber orders are always prioritized last behind everyone else. The staff explicitly confirmed: "Yes." Effectively, as long as there is a customer in the store, online orders are ignored. 2. Extremely Rude Staff: When I tried to communicate the delay, a male staff member snapped at me: "Why are you asking the counter? Can't you see I'm busy? Ask Uber if you have a problem." 3. Arrogant Owner & Hostility: The owner appeared, asked no questions, and immediately ordered me: "Go wait outside. Don't talk in my shop." I was forced to stand outside like I was being punished for another 20 minutes. 4. Final Insult: Total wait time: nearly 35 minutes. Even at handover, despite showing my phone multiple times, I was subjected to hostile verification checks. [To the Owner] If you choose to be on the Uber platform, drivers are your partners in the service chain, not burdens to be shooed away. Online orders are a growth opportunity. However, your mentality of treating drivers as second-class citizens and deprioritizing platform orders is archaic. You are losing the convenience and efficiency that modern retail demands. I strongly warn other drivers to avoid accepting orders from this store unless you want to be ignored for half an hour and then kicked out.

Sammy (staff member) is awesome and definitely a keeper. Amazing customer service The new owners are not friendly and just ignore customers. The shop used to have great deals on basic wines and offer a bigger variety of products but now, there is fewer items and not always available

I was treated badly at this store and I found out that itβs not actually my fault or my responsibility , i had an appointment at Torbay and stop over at 4 square Torbay, to get groceries, first saw the staff and asked if I could use my ASB business true rewards , they got no idea what I am talking about, asked the Owner seems like got no idea too, owner treated me like a beggar like I am going to steal the food i got , FYI life is hard but I will not feed my kids food from illegal. I went there and been polite , as an owner or manager you should treat me the same like other customer, you should have been polite, understanding and patient , or maybe you just donβt have that? I asked you nicely that since we tried so hard for the business true reward to work but at the end it did not, I asked you nicely if you can wait , I parked my car infront of your store and I will grab my wallet cos I have cash, but what did you do? You cancelled my groceries they are not just one or two itβs worth a lot, but still Iβve been patient and wait for your staff to scan it again because you cancelled it right?? I paid for it ! I did not stole it. But why I feel so down? Because how you treated me , look at the photos I attached , I live in Northcote but I went all the way to beach haven 4 square and tried my ASB business true Rewards and it did work!!!!please see the receipt. You both 4 square and have partnership with ASB as an owner you should have known about this. If not you should train yourself and train your staff to know about this. I will make sure to bring this up Ombudsman or anywhere I can complain your store. Itβs not fair for someone like me. I was hurt and dissapointed. After hearing me I hope you learn something from this. You will never go wrong with kindness.

My favourite place to shop on the shore. So convenient. Excellent coffee and friendly staff. Wish they would do a bit of a revamped of the outside signage though. It is a bit of an eyesore for the Torbay town.
