They don’t stock enough product to cover specials. They will run out and not get anymore in for that week. Meaning you can’t buy specials from this store. It’s happened week after week. After week. I’ve tried to complain but they’ve made it so hard to contact customer care. As someone who worked for you and knows what the standard is. Do better.

I'm a frequent customer here, and I've witnessed more than a few instances where one of the supervisors speaks to the employees in a way that is clearly passive-aggressive and frankly, just plain rude. I couldn’t catch the name tag, but black curly hair and she is there most nights of the week. When she addresses them, even if it's just to give an instruction, her tone often comes across as constantly dismissive, even when the girls are serving me. What's worse is seeing the effect it has. I've been standing right there at the checkout, and after the she speaks to them, the staff immediately wear this look of distress, they seem annoyed, humiliated, or genuinely upset. It totally changes their attitude while they're still trying to serve myself and other customers. That visible stress makes for a really awkward and uncomfortable customer experience, which I can’t blame them for. I've also noticed that this lady seems to struggle with clear English sometimes. While I get that a language barrier can lead to misunderstandings and frustration, it shouldn't be an excuse for her consistently poor and rude behaviour toward her team. Though she may not be aware, she really needs to be more conscious of how her words and tone land, especially since she is a supervisor. Honestly, the staff work hard, and watching a supervisor treat them this way is uninviting. I'm writing this because I'm a concerned customer and don’t want this to impact the overall performance of your very efficient and lovely girls working the till.

Great range in this smaller supermarket - a bit of a rabbit hole to find it through the mall carpark but I found it! Has shorter opening hours than some supermarkets so check before visiting. Self checkout and cashier options.

Woolworths Whangaparaoa, located in the Coast Plaza shopping centre, is the go-to supermarket for residents on the Whangaparaoa Peninsula. The store is bright, tidy, and well-organised, with a solid range of fresh produce, meats, dairy, and everyday pantry items. It’s not the largest Woolworths branch, but it’s well-stocked for the needs of the local community, and staff are generally friendly and helpful, adding to the relaxed, small-town vibe. Given its position in a coastal suburb that sees both steady local traffic and seasonal holidaymakers, the store can get busy, especially during weekends and summer months. While it usually keeps up with demand, popular items can sell out quickly during peak times. The product range covers most essentials, though for more niche or bulk items, some shoppers prefer driving into larger supermarkets in Silverdale or Albany. Prices are standard for Woolworths, although locals often compare with Countdown or The Warehouse for deals on specific goods. Parking is convenient, with plenty of spaces available around Coast Plaza, and the location is ideal for combining your grocery run with stops at nearby cafes, pharmacies, or service stores. The coastal setting also makes it a pleasant place to shop, especially with its slower pace compared to inner-city locations. Overall, Woolworths Whangaparaoa offers a dependable and friendly shopping experience. While it’s not the biggest or most comprehensive store, it delivers where it counts — good service, solid range, and convenience for locals and visitors alike. It’s a reliable choice for everyday shopping on the peninsula.

Deeply disappointed with the countdown “cracker selection” pack for $3.00. Crackers were overly dry and bland. Furthermore, I was disappointed to find that it is not possible to leave product reviews on your website. Other than this good store tho :)
