Came in showing the largely built barber who wears a hat a photo of a mid taper fade. I have been growing out my curls for over a year and have been completely messed up. I walked out with an undercut and a high skin fade looking like I was straight out of peaky blinders. Other barbers from this shop have done an excellent job with my hair in the past which is why I was so shocked at the quality of my haircut. This is not personal, I'm just very frusturated. I'm sorry if I am coming across as a "karen" but reviews like these need to be made. An image of the previous haircut I got (excellent quality) versus the one I received recently are both from the same shop. Feedback/criticism shouldn’t be taken personally and be handled in a professional manner. It’s often awkward or uncomfortable to confront barbers in person about the quality of the haircut, hence why i’ve come to the reviews page. Rejecting criticism isn’t a sign of professionalism. I have also added a photo of what I showed the barber and it shows little resemblance of what I received.
got a buzz half a year ago and then i asked for a mid taper yesterday wich is hard to do cos my hair was the same length all round and the dude with the glasses and the arm tatoos did a great job this place is lit

Came in during the weekend and asked for a slight trim of my mullet I’d been growing for nearly a year, I showed reference photos for what I wanted. Unfortunately, I received something entirely different with my mullet being completely chopped off. I also would like to state the fact that there is a noticeable difference in length making the cut uneven. I got home and had a further look which left me taking matters into my own hands where I attempted to cut my own hair. Extremely frustrated as growing your hair out takes a long time.

I have been going to Jose since I was very young and I mean 3 or 4 years of age. This place is the real deal and I highly recommend anyone on the north shore to visit. Haircuts are nothing short of perfect in my experience and prices are also great. I think I pay either $28 or $30 as an adult and I also buy my hair gel from here since it is top quality. Unless I move out of Auckland, I will continue going. I did try out a few other barbers many years back when I was either living out of town or had no options to get here but realised they were not as good. I highly recommend these guys as they have never done me wrong.
