Worst Chilly Chicken I ever had. Ordered a takeaway dish. Lady on maitre d was very rude. No greetings, no smiles. Completely ignores you if you ask a question. I would not even give a single star on service and not to forget the food wasn’t nice either. Over-cooked chicken, was very chewy and rubbery. Wouldn’t be back ever again.
The food was absolutely wonderful, from preparation to presentation, very pleasing. We especially enjoyed the Butter Chicken and lamb Mint Curry . Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of our family during our visit . You and your staff were so very accommodating and informed about our special dietary needs.Thank you , we will sure see you soon . Always best restaurant .
Had an unfortunate experience! Checked in around 9:45pm and the staff happily said they've butter chicken available, ended up ordering the staff recommended dish for take away. The chicken was rotten, the curry was more like colored water with inconsistent taste. Wouldn't recommend this place to people who wants to have good food, let alone Indian. Surprised that they still manage to get business.
Since this place changed from Curry Heaven to Simply Indian, our favourite go to place for curry is no longer here! We used to go there either for takeaways or dine in at least every fortnight, but the food changed for the worse and the service was nowhere near as friendly as before. My son used to be greeted by name when he rang and went in, that’s how often we went. We were annoyed and frustrated that the new staff didn’t care to lose a regular customer. Found a new local now so obviously Simply Indian doesn’t need our business.
We visited Simply Indian Petone yesterday for lunch, the lady who served us was really lovely. Quite a few people already dining in the restaurant when we got there which I took to be a good sign. The food was really good, all four of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Great prices for their lunch menu too. We are looking forward to going back there.
I used to come to this restaurant all the time, to the point where some of the staff know me by name. The last time I went to dine in there I would've liked to take what I hadn't eaten home but was disgusted to see a sign under the counter saying they'll charge you another dollar just for a takeaway container. This is on top of the fact that you effectively pay 10% extra to dine in vs takeaway. When I pointed this fact out after I had paid for my meal it was apparently hilarious to the lady because she started laughing at the till. I have been coming here a very long time, long before it was re branded as simply indian and quite frankly since it has been re branded the quality of the food has also gone way downhill, not to mention the service. I'm glad you have enough business to just throw loyal customers away like that, I will never be back.
