   Hi I'm an out of townie from Northland touring the South Island, and have in the past visited Port Chalmers. I love vintage 40s and 50s clothing and knitted cardies, making Box of Birds one of my favourite attractions to do a trip to see what tempting goodies are in store. I was so disappointed to say the least that I visited twice and you were closed. In fact most shops seem to be closed there Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays with a few exceptions. The community seemed to have no knowledge of your hours. I saved myself some money I thought as I drove away. No operating hours on the door either. Now I've found your site on Google. Next time!!

   This shop is must for lovers of vintage and quirkiness! I walked away with a highwayman in my bag, a pair of lips with bad teeth broach, a fried egg with a cockroach broach, plus many other weird goodies. I was assisted by an awesome lady who carefully wrapped every item. Seriously, what more could you want?
