Just a chance drop in for dinner as we were walking past. Super service from our awesome waitress, great food and well priced. We shared plates from the $15 menu. The portions were generous so I have my lunch sorted for tomorrow as well. As well as the delicious Indonesian fare they surprise with some traditional Dutch food like Bitterballen, Kroket and Friet met. We had the best raw fish salad 'Ceviche' and the Nasi Goreng. Well done Bundang. We will be back. oh and great coffee afterwards.

About Us
Bandung leans into a Thai-inspired approach with no fuss. Stir-fries keep good heat and snap. Vegetarian picks read as complete plates. Team members keep things friendly and on task. Sides like naan and rice tie the meal together.

Bandung is a wonderful place to visit in Parnell with a good range of Indonesian and fusion options! We ordered a Soto Ayam ($19) (chicken broth with vegetables and glass noodle), Mie Goreng with prawn ($22.50), and a fried chicken ($15) and Dutch fries ($10.50) to share. The food arrived pretty quickly (little over 10 minutes) and we were really pleased at just how varied the flavours were. The chicken broth was very hearty with a good warmth from the turmeric. The potato cake on the side was also a nice touch. The noodles were also fantastic. They were generously seasoned and topped with plenty of vegetables and pickles. The sauce on the side was also a good touch to add a little heat. A very nice portion of noodles and prawns too! The sides are fun too - the Dutch fries were a little chunky but very crispy and nicely coloured. The chicken was maybe a little over-fried, but the flavour of the coating and meat was really great with a hint of spice. Potions are a little on the smaller side, so if you are in a larger group, consider ordering a few. The space is decorated really well, and it's pleasing to see. The staff were lovely too. Its prices and quality are quite great and comparable (or better) to most places around central Auckland. I definitely recommend Bandung!

Best. Meal. Ever. We lived in Central Java for 10 months and sorely miss the food from that region. On our trip to Auckland (weβre from S.I) we researched Indo resto in Auckland and settled on Bandung. It did not disappoint!! It brought back memories of our time in Indonesia - including our young children. The food was so authentic despite being made in NZ! Cannot recommend highly enough.

Had a great lunch here, taking advantage of the $15 plates. The food is pretty legit, e.g. the roti canai with the rendang appears house made. Nasi goreng , mi goreng, squid.. It was all super tasty and I'd happily return. Great service and environment. If I worked nearby, this would be the Fri arvo spot (cocktails looked good).

We had a great time at Bandung and enjoyed each of the delicious dishes we ate. All of the meat is halal (as at January 2025) which was great for us. We tried many of the dishes on the βspecialsβ menu which are like mini versions of some from the main menu for $15 which allows you to try many things which I loved. I did think $15 was a little steep for some of the dishes but overall the food was very tasty and lovely service. We did get the βfull-sizeβ mie goreng which is pictured. We sat in the front room and it was a little loud from the kitchen so perhaps consider sitting out the back if youβre sensitive to sound. I will definitely go back.

A lovely, warm space, kind and feiendly service and great authentic food, some of it conpletwly new for me. We had 3 vegetarian dishes - gulai nangka(curry with tofu and jackfruit), mie goreng(egg noodels with vegetables) and tempeh bandung(sauteed tempeh with green beans), and loved them! It was our first time trying tempeh and jackfruit and it was a great experience.

We've been curious about this place for some time and finally got a chance to visit. The decor is impressive, the music was nice, and the host (probably one of the owners) was very welcoming. I was pleasantly impressed with them having a French wine option. The order was taken efficiently and the food arrived quickly. It was quite impressive. The taste? I ordered something very basic and it was decent. My friends went for more authentic dishes and they were not too impressed. Maybe we just don't get the Indonesian cuisine.

This is a bit of a fun find! You must go all the way through the cafe, past the kitchen to the tropical oasis out the back! The squid was ok (slightly overcooked) & the cocktails my friend had looked delightful! A lovely looking menu that Iβm definitely tempted to go back for!

Delicious non alcoholic cocktails for $9. This is a lychee spritz which was lovely, not too sweet. The alcoholic version was only $8 more. Squid rings were a yummy snack
