    My review is based on about a dozen interactions over the last six months. The owner always looks disheveled and tired with bloodshot eyes and he and the female staff person who I assume is his wife make almost no effort to be polite or friendly. Very little eye contact, no smiles. They both seem tired, overworked and clearly do not want to be there. The products in the supermarket are mostly low quality with few healthy options. The overseas confectionary stocked by the store in particular is of appallingly low quality. To access the liquor store next door you often have to wait for the supermarket staff person to slowly wander over and unlock it, never with any urgency or respect for the customers time. To me, these two stores feel purely profit motivated and predatory, with zero interest in the otherwise very friendly and close community of Palmerston. I would be happy to change my review if I see improvement in the service at these stores.

    The shop has new owners and it has been renovated, the prices are quite reasonable and it has a good variety of stuff to choose from.

    Huge mark up on most products and when questioned they say that it's normal, but it's not. My mum and her partner run a dairy and have not seen such high mark ups on products. Even some outdated stock is above recommended retail pricing.
