A lovely walk up window, great drinks, convenient location!
This is an outdoor experience with a few seats to sit and enjoy the communal nature of coffee drinking. We met some lovely locals and shared stories. We came every morning (3) we stayed. They had blankets and ceramic mugs to choose from for your save the planet conscience. The coffee was great!
A very cute little cafe. Lovely customer service. Had a delicious vegan toastie and carrot cake with a soy latte. Popped in for a coffee and was very excited by the vegan food options, as they’re hard to come by, particularly in smaller shops. Thank you for catering for different dietary requirements! I’m not gluten free but was surprised by how tasty the gluten free bread was. Keep up the good work!
What a cute little spot for a coffee! The ladies in the cart are lovely and the coffee is really good. If you’re having your coffee at their seating area or across the street by the beach you can choose one of their funky mugs to borrow and return after you’ve finished to save creating rubbish with a takeaway cup.
My husband and I have a day every week where we take the day off and head to the beach or river. The coffee at Brown Dog draws us back to this area repeatedly. I am impressed with the consistently great coffee. Often coffee is subject to the staff member or the mood of the staff but I have never had a bad coffee from Brown Dog. Thank you Holly for your wonderful service and skills
My wife and I both believe that Holly's coffee is consistently the best coffee you'll get anywhere in the Bay. We travel most weekends to Haumoana to have her coffee. We take our coffees and either go and read by the beach for a couple hours, or we pack our thermal cups into our bikes saddle bags, head somewhere to drink them on one of the bountiful bike trails close by.
Love all the locals here saying hi to each other and chatting. Great coffee.

Such a cute little place to get your coffee fix. We camped close by and came here for coffee and something to eat. I had the açai bowl and that was delicious! A must try!
