On the plate at East Taieri Dairy & Takeaways, the idea is classic fish-and-chips and well executed. Blue cod and other fillets arrive fresh with light batter. Wait times are contained even when busy. Takeaway holds up well on the drive. Value feels fair for the spread.
Ordered 2 fish, a sausage and a scoop between 2 people. Scoop was a decent size, sausage and chips were really nice, the fish however was terrible, very mushy and definitely wasn’t fresh.
Good local spot on the main road with a dairy and fish and chips all in one. Handy for grabbing the basics, and the fish and chips are tasty and done right. The lady serving was really friendly, which makes it a nice place to stop.
This is where I chose to meet the world ambassador for peace 7 days ago. He had my raw copy of my book. Absolutely delighted. this store was a pit stop for many years when travelling from Blenheim to Lawrence 2 to 3 times a year for many years. 4 star fish and chips, and a good stop after a chaotic highway road out of the city.
Great place to stop after the motorway for a snack or pick up some milk etc. Service is good most of the time. Friendly chatty staff.

The staff are rude and disrespectful to customers. Everything is way over priced.
Convenient location, good to grab a bite to eat before heading south. Customer service is good, polite and friendly staff. The elusive 5-star rating could be obtained simply by slightly increasing the size of their scoop ice creams!
Great stop & shop on SH1. With three car parks on SH1, It's really convenient for a quick stop.
