   Went in to purchase a surf vest, slow service, poor choice, black only, price $20 more than online, spent over $90, asked for the free towel offer, assistant did not know about it, I paid and left the store embarrassed, messaged store re the experience, did not hear back.. not a good experience....

   "Best kids' wetsuits!" gushed my son. "Can we tell them that when we go to the counter?" Yes boy, we sure can. Wetsuits for small children are either thin (2mm) and poor quality, or high quality, expensive and very hard to get into. My 7 year old was reduced to tears by trying to get into a zipless one earlier in the week, so when he wriggled his way easily into a full length steamer in the changing room at Rip Curl his enthusiasm was immediate. The answer to the kids' wetsuit conundrum is this - just add more zips. The Omega full length steamer has a backzip and zips on the lower leg that make it a breeze to get into and out of. And at 3/2 (that's 3mm on the body and legs, 2mm on the arms) it's thicker and warmer than most of the kids' suits on the market. The sizing goes down to 2, which should suit a large toddler or a smallish preschooler. Before you bother buying your little grom a surfboard, boogie board etc. go see the nice folks at Rip Curl Mount Maunganui and they'll sort you out with a suit that will keep them in the water having fun, which is really what it's all about anyhow.

   Have a no refund store policy, offering store credit or replacement only. I’m doing my bit by shopping locally, but this is one business I will be avoiding. Shop elsewhere Mount folk. Give your $$ to stores that respect their customers.

   I'm local but would never shop here again. Staff lack even basic knowledge of Consumer Guarantees Act. Bought a faulty item here last year and it took me over a month to get a refund after having to make several calls to Auckland & 2 trips back to the shop.
