Originally had five stars and I cannot deny that their original service over approximately 2years was amazing, however I have edited and changed to 1 star. Reasons being: 1. Constant changing of vets and locums- unable to keep staff at the clinic. (Got sick of seeing temp vets and saw 10+ different vets over a few years. Was unable to have continuity of care). 2. Real difficulty in talking to reception, has taken me three days of constant calling in the past to just get through on the phone. 3. Mistakes. So many mistakes. I wonβt mention them all, but most recent was they chucked my cats urine out without sending it to the lab (we had done multiple at this point and the one and ONLY reason to get it was to send it to the lab). After a surgery threw away requested teeth. Did two uneccesary procedures involving GA and later admitted it was a bad idea had to apologise to me. 4. No communication between staff! I had to tell the same story/instructions over and over again. At one point I told a piece of Information and instructions to two vet nurses, a vet two receptionists AND filled out a form. Because they were not communicating to each other or putting things down on file, they still ended up calling me later that day and asking me what to do. 5. Useless paperwork. I filled out a form being VERY specific about details of my pet and twice they were not followed/done. This was a form they requested I fill out, yet they never used it. Ended up calling me and asking me what the vet wanted even though it was on her file and my form (we found out later that it was in there all along). 6. The thing that tipped me over the edge and made me leave the practice was the amount of babysitting I had to do. I had to constantly call up and ask if certain tests had been done, updates for bloods, requests for procedures etc. If I didnβt, nothing would be done. One time I left them, (giving them a chance and I felt like a nag and I didnt want to have to keep following up and calling) they didnβt respond for TWO WEEKS and by then it was too late and they had thrown out my pets urine sample (which took 36 hours to get and was not easy). They also tried to charge me extra for non payment but I was waiting for an invoice! For some reason they told me not to pay and said they would invoice me (I think reception was understaffed). It took weeks and I was the one who had to remind them. Mary- Anne (I think that is her name) at reception has ALWAYS been 5stars tho. Amazing empathy, care and does her job at reception SO well

Iβm so appreciative of the care and kindness my family and I received last week when our cat, Zephyr died. The Humanimals team were incredibly helpful, patient, and understanding. A big thank you to the administration team who went above and beyond to support us, and to the vet who handled our situation with thoughtfulness and respect.

Really nice vet but very time poor. Does not have capacity to follow up on promises. Difficult to contact reception. When you do, receptionist is cold and lacks empathy needed to deal with families handling stressful pet issues.

Our fur baby recently went through surgery to extract some ingested foreign bodies. It was an unsettling time, but we felt very supported through the process, with regular communication while he was awaiting surgery, prompt responses through emails/ calls and fitting us in for last-minute appointments when we had concerns with his recovery. I felt listened to when I had concerns about his recovery and didnβt feel judged when I thought I could have been overreacting. I received thorough explanations of what was going on in terms that I could understand We feel our Frankie was loved and cared for as if he were their own. A big thank you to Laura and Marie and the rest of the team at Humanimals!

As there are very few vets in dunedin and with them taking on the clients of closed down vets these people are doing the best with what they can. Its not easy work with the added stress but i know my cat will always be well taken care of here.

Impossible to get hold of anyone. Was on hold for an hour+ while my brother was also on his line trying to reach for someone multiple times. Gave up trying with Humanimals, and ended up getting hold of a different vet. Bloody shocking Humanimals, I understand there can be many emergency's on the go, but some communication would've been nice.

Today was our first time using Humanimals since Mornington Vets merged with them. They were able to make an appointment for our cat the same day we called. My wife was very upset but was immediately calmed and reassured by the kind lady on the front desk. Both the vet (Ellen) and the vet nurse (Alya) were wonderful and took the time to explain to us what the diagnosis was and how they will treat it. Thank you.

Was were required to make a $1000 payment upfront for a surgery, the dog had to be euthanised before the surgery and after 3 weeks we have still not received a refund after many phone calls. It is very difficult to contact them by phone (up to 45 minutes wait time) and no response to emails. I would defiantly recommend anyone else!!!!!

Vets and nurses are super nice and professional enough. But, the booking system is totally a piece of xxxx. Got my cat booked for vaccination, changed appointment twice with wrong cat being registered for that appointment.
