I would like to express my significant disappointment with the accounting services provided by Kiwitax, which has led to the liquidation of my company and the engagement of a new accountant. Over the past three weeks, my new accountant has provided a level of guidance and instruction that far surpasses what I received from my previous accountant at Kiwitax. I believe I missed out on crucial maternity leave pay because my accountant did not advocate for me as expected. Numerous conversations with other business owners have revealed that they successfully received their maternity leave pay, even with similar accounting timelines, because their accountants dedicated the necessary time and effort to ensure their clients' financial well-being. I feel deeply let down by this oversight. While I take accountability for my own ignorance, reviewing unanswered emails, unaddressed questions, and misguided information has left me heartbroken. My new accountant did not charge me for the work they carried out because they felt sorry for my situation, and I cannot seem to get that out of my head. I would never recommend Kiwitax; they will not advocate for their clients. I truly lost out when I had my twins, and if I had been guided throughout, I feel like I would have had a different outcome or I could have been more prepared for this situation. I hope that this feedback encourages you to improve your empathy and ability to guide business owners through challenging times, helping them grow and advocating for their best interests. I was the one who lost out here.
First time business owner - I wouldn’t recommend for first time business owners. Perhaps those who already know what is expected of business owners and tax obligations. My experience wasn’t great, this is possibly due to mismatched expectations. The fact only contact I received was about deadlines. Not really any education as to why information is needed. And expect to be charged for that information. My review is purely based on this and my own opinion. I do it myself now with the help of AI.
Emma and her team are fantastic. I love their user friendly systems for uploading your financial info, and as a newbie to running a small business, Emma has been nothing but helpful, friendly and supportive during the whole set-up process. Highly recommend!
