   There's a lovely shaded park outside and a little water feature. The building is quite big and beautiful. Art deco period. There's heaps of parking around the building and a nice walking trail in Tiffen park behind the theatre

   Watched the kohine of St Josephs Maori Girls College performing for their po whakangahau here. The theatre is a beautiful old building. Well heated and card for. Could do with a few more hand basins in the women's toilet and the car park close by should be opened when events are on there

   NZ Highwaymen great show. Talented guys in their 70s and 80s who still are able to entertain the crowd. Gray Bartlett awesome guitar skills. Thoroughly enjoyed the show. Thanks for coming to Napier.

   There are three reasons to go to a show at the Napier Municipal Theatre 1 - the show 2- the bar that they open just before the show and 3 - the 1930's architecture and interior decoration of the theatre itself. If you are a fan of the Art Deco decor style but can't stay long enough to attend a show ask the lovely people in the ticket booking office if you can go through and have a look (they can only let you in the theatre area if there are no shows or rehearsals in progress)

   Such a great venue for dance recitals, ballet performances & classical music. The seats in the circle are not made for long legs though! The gorgeous architecture takes away the focus from that though...

   The Theatre was closed for the couple of days I was in Napier, and I resigned myself to not getting inside. A lone staff member took pity on the Ozzie trying to see through the dark entrance. A quick chat, and he gave me a tour of the amazing interior, even turning on the Light system. It's a truly amazing space, and combination of the Art Deco interior with world class lighting is truly amazing, and a credit to the City of Napier.
