Went there for team lunch on Tuesday. Quite disappointed on food. Typical chinese-japanese. Not at all authentic. Ordered Danbury but rice was not cooked properly. Meat to rice ratio was wrong. Using Chinese style plastic chopsticks. Sushi balls seemed overly pressed. One of the geisha portrait on the wall was with Qipao (China dress). I ate it all as it was team lunch, didn't want to be looked picky. But if the restaurant gonna charge $20+ per main menu, I'd expect them to be much better. Around the corner, Jitsu would be much authentic and cheaper.

We were a group of 15 people, out for a conference dinner. The restaurant was packed - obviously very popular. We ordered a bunch of starters for the table as everyone wandered in, and then later ordered our mains. Starters were so delicious- all of them! My main was the karaange chicken salad with the og sauce. It was fresh, delicious, generous and well priced. I definitely want to go back and explore more of the menu. The decor was beautiful.

Iโm a Japanese food lover myself. I passed by Dunedin and decided to give this place a try. Unfortunately, the food was very tasteless. The karaage (fried chicken) was plain, the ramen was plain, and the mixed platter (mixture of sushis) was even worse than the premade ones Iโve randomly picked up from the supermarket. The service, however, was quite good. The waiter was nice and very patient in recommending their dishes โ itโs just the food that doesnโt deserve such a high ranking.

We step in to the restaurant around 1:30pm and given 6 mins to make our orders. We have ordered the Yakiniku beef don, fried beef Udon, Chicken Katsu don and Yakiniku beef set. The general comment is too salty or sweet. As I ordered Yakiniku beef set, I find the beef is older cook, it so hard, dry and salty. Personally, I think the layout looks good but food standard is not as impressive.

We finally made it in this restaurant in my sonโs birthday. He loves sushi and that was in our list of restaurants for ages. I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The ambience was warm and welcoming, creating a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere. The menu was impressively diverse, offering plenty of options to choose from. When we had dinner, the restaurant wasnโt very crowded, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The food was consistently delicious and of good quality, although I did notice that the dessert menu wasnโt very extensive. One thing to be aware of is that the restaurant closes early, which can be inconvenient. Parking in the CBD is also not very easy, so keep that in mind when planning your visit. On weekends, reservations are a must due to higher foot traffic. On the positive side, the space is wheelchair accessible, and there are plenty of options for vegetarians and vegans, which I really appreciated. Lastly, I highly recommend trying the bento boxes and the salmon mango sushiโthey were absolutely fantastic!

Waited for my food for 15 mins after the rest of my table got their food. Also the photos on the menu are so clearly not what you get. Disappointed. - broke uni student wanting a good feed

Jizo has an entire vegan menu and great service! I asked for recommendations and a wonderful human (who was also vegan) picked out some great things for me, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I had the Teriyaki Tofu Balls, Vegan Karaage Entree, and Kushiage Tofu with Sesame Seeds. It was great to go solo and experience but Iโd love to go back with friends and share lots of entree platters and small plates!

Really nice atmosphere with an expansive vegan & keto menu in addition to an already large regular menu too. Had a great teriyaki tofu donburri that Iโd happily eat again.

Love the food and service. I got yakiniku beef. It was super delicious. With a salad and rice with it, it was a balanced and tasty meal. Service was super. Highly recommended

Came here on a friendโs recommendation and did not regret it. Amazing vibe inside, wide selection for every diner, and great customer service. I had the chasu ramen (pork belly); it came chock full of ingredients like veggies, mung beans, sesame seeds, pickled radish, ramen egg and seaweed. I love my noodle bowls with lots of ingredients in them so this was fantastic. It wasnโt perfect though; the meat pieces were generous but could be more tender and with more flavour, and the noodles were not traditional Japanese ramen at all. They tasted more like egg noodles. Maybe Iโll try the udon next time!
