Sazio keeps things simple, bistro-style and focused on flavour. Music and pace keep a casual tone. Service stays present without fuss. Takeaway holds up well on the drive. Portions are generous yet well judged.
Superb dinner served up by congenial host/owner Norbert. Standouts among our excellent meals were the rigatoni special, the meatball starter, the mozzarella starter and the pork belly main which was cooked to perfection. Would give 10 stars if I could. So glad we drove over to Hastings from Napier. More than worth the trip.
My friends and I had a wonderful evening at Sazio. The atmosphere was relaxed yet refined, the service attentive without being intrusive, and the food absolutely outstanding ~ flavour-driven, classic Italian done beautifully. Highly recommend!
A delightful early evening meal with my pasta loving daughter. The focaccia was lush to start and I had food envy of her ragu. Lovely service from the boss - nice wine choices too.
Update - still absolutely amazing food and service! Dan and the team went out of their way to plan in advance menu options for one of our group with a number of dietary restrictions. All of us loved our food - from teens to my 80 year old mum whos birthday it was. Honey mustard roast carrots with nuts good enough as a main not just a side dish! Best pork belly I think I have ever eaten! (Sorry, too busy eating the fantastic food to stop and take many pictures!) The whole team are focused on ensuring you enjoy your experience! Gluten and dairy free easily catered for and well communicated - they make their own GF pasta and it is great! Atmosphere is great, with the kitchen on display and very helpful and friendly staff. The food is fantastic - I took two friends from Wellington and they were blown away with the tastes and textures of the food. Great location to move on to local bars and venues after dinner too! Thanks guys, we will be back!
The food was lovely BUT we were sat at a terrible table and ther was no other customer for 45 minutes. Food is good BUT business management is terrible! This was the view from our table! We spent 126.00 without ordering mains and were done in 45 minutes. What happened to customer service? We actually watched another couple walk out when then told them they could sit next to us or outside.
Overall a great experience, 1st time visit from us all and what an enjoyable evening, the food, service and atmosphere was on point, good work team.
The most amazing vibrant pasta restaurant I have been to in NZ. The food is beyond excellent, service is excellent. It's a vibrant little restaurant that is a must to go to. Food is prepared in an open kitchen - it's worth visiting just to see how professional the chef & staff are. I will definitely eat hear whenever I visit Hastings.
Lovely service, simple but nice environment and more importantly, the pasta is amazing. I had the prawn one with chilli butter. Pasta itself got good texture which you can tell when you start chewing and the prawn was amazingly well seasoned. Will come back to explore more of the menu. Thanks for the service again guys!
