   Gem is such an awesome lady. Her salon has a peaceful ambience and is close to the city in Linwood, opposite East Gate Shopping Centre. Her prices are very reasonable. I wish getting a haircut in Wellington was as enjoyable and easy on the wallet.

   My son came in on Thursday to get his hair cut. He is 10. My son had a cowlick and his hair has a star creating his hair to go in separated directions. his hair was not cut evenly or to suit his hair. I could've given a better haircut blindfolded using my feet. But my biggest issue was the fact the woman constantly asked my son if he was a girl because he had both ears pierced. Making his self esteem get hit. He's 10 and you made him feel like a girl because he has both his ears pierced. Would you say the same thing to Johnny Depp? What about David Beckham, Michael Jordan or Will Smith? No. Of course not. It's 2022... not 1800s. Definitely not acted in a professional manner at all with a massive pile of sexism. Stop it.

   When my hairdresser left to go to Australia, I thought I’d never find a better hairdresser. Well I was wrong Gem’s hair & beauty Salon is the place for me. Friendly atmosphere, years of hairdressing experience, and reasonable prices. I am very happy with the result. Thank you Gem I appreciate you.

   My partner (male) had his hair cut by Gem, and I thought she'd done a really good job. She spent quite a bit of time going over the cut to make it look really good. So, I thought I would get her to cut my hair. I am female and like my hair cut really short, but I was very disappointed with the cut she gave me compared to the cut she gave my partner. The trim over the ears was really high on one side and I had to trim the other side myself to try and get them to match. The neck line was not cut high enough, but she didn't even show me what she had done in a mirror so I never got a chance to see it until I got home. But the over all cut was not as good as the cut Gem had done for my partner. I also asked her about getting my hair dyed. She suggested brown. Brown is the worst colour for my tones, I have black hair and olive skin, brown hair would just make me look sickly. Overall, not a good experience, I probably won't be back.

   Gem is super lovely and kind. I have always felt super nervous going to the hairdressers but Gem was professional and made me feel so comfortable. She gave me an amazing haircut and made me feel very relaxed. Thank you so much Gem! Would highly recommend.
