I went in to enquire about an old Dutch sailing ship that docked in the marina for 175 anniversary of the 1st 4 ships to sail into lyttleton o 27th dec in 1850! My great great grand parents were on the cressy which sailed here from surrey Uk! They were very helpfull in helping me find where it was moored, as the sails were down and hard to spot.
Very interesting historical site. Awesome to watch the operation of the Time Ball at 1pm each day. a beautiful view over the harbour. A quiet, peaceful place.
Came over 3 days early to get information from the information centre on where a cruise ship would berth and how and where the passengers would get to the township. This was to save time and make the arrival of my family stress and hassle free. It was just the opposite. None of the information was given was correct. Not a good look.
Great little spot to visit. Some information available but there is friendly staff there to provide any other useful information in which may want or need.
Great day there busy in and around Market Day Saturday will be back soon plenty of parking no Problems finding a park just a short walk for us to London Street .
A great little place. Went up to see the Time ball, which also had a great view of the harbor.
