Alanie is an incredibly skilled, knowledgeable and uplifting pilates teacher. She's full of fun and makes exercise really enjoyable. She carefully watches and supports to ensure injuries are avoided and movements are done correctly. It's a fun, inclusive and encouraging space. Highly recommend.

Okay, so I’m 13 years old and I know Pilates might not sound like something a kid like me would get into. To be honest, I didn’t even really know what it was at first. I thought it was only for adults, or for super fit people who already knew how to do fancy workouts. But everything changed when I started going to Cambridge Pilates Studio. At first, I was really nervous. I thought I’d be the youngest one there and that I’d probably mess up or feel awkward. But the second I walked into the studio, it felt different from what I imagined. The place is really calm and welcoming—not like a loud, intense gym. The lighting is soft, the equipment looks cool but not scary, and the whole vibe is peaceful. It’s not just a place to work out—it’s a place where you can actually enjoy moving your body and feel good while doing it. One of the biggest reasons I love going is because of the instructor, Alanie. She’s honestly one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. I’ve had teachers and coaches before, but no one quite like her. She’s encouraging in a way that makes you actually want to try harder—not because you’re scared of messing up, but because you feel supported. Even when I struggle with certain moves, she never gets frustrated or annoyed. Instead, she just says something like, “Let’s adjust that a bit,” or, “You’re doing awesome—try this variation.” It makes me feel like I’m learning, not failing. She’s also super good at explaining things in a way that makes sense. Sometimes adults just talk over your head or act like you already know everything. But not her. She takes the time to show you how everything works, and she always makes sure I’m comfortable before we move on to something new. Even though she teaches people of all different ages and levels, she somehow knows exactly how to help everyone feel included and confident. What surprised me the most is how much stronger I feel now. Not just physically (though, yeah, my core strength has gotten way better), but also mentally. After a session, I feel more focused, less stressed, and just… happier. I didn’t think a workout could make such a big difference in how I feel during the day, but it really does. I actually look forward to going every week. It’s become one of the best parts of my routine. Another thing I love is that there’s no pressure. I never feel like I have to be perfect or the best. It’s about doing your best and growing over time. That’s something I really appreciate. It makes me want to keep coming back, not because I have to, but because I want to. So if you’re a kid like me—or even an adult who’s nervous about starting—this is the place to go. Cambridge Pilates Studio isn’t just a workout spot. It’s a place where you’re welcomed, supported, and taught by someone who really cares about helping you become stronger, inside and out. I never thought I’d be doing Pilates, but now I can’t imagine not doing it. Thank you for creating a place where someone like me can feel proud of what I’m doing.

Love Cambridge Pilates. Alaine is a wonderful and professional instructor who instinctively knows that we are all individuals with unique bodies and needs. The small classes allow for a personal approach - you don’t feel like you’re just another attendee, being rushed in and out of classes. I have tried a number of other local pilates studios, but Cambridge Pilates is always one that I go back to.

Alanie is a wonderful Pilates teacher who is endlessly patient with the way my body works (or doesn't, at times!) and readily adapts accordingly. You'd expect that from someone so skilled in her craft, of course, but what I appreciate is that she's curious, not judge-y. She's a great motivator, makes me think - and laugh - and actually want to push myself to do better. I cannot recommend her and Cambridge Pilates more highly.

I’ve been coming to Cambridge Pilates for over 5 years and I just love the classes! Alanie makes the classes fun but also helps target those aches and pains that we all suffer from. I always leave feeling like I have had a decent work out but also refreshed!
