1. Kaptain Kerr ★★★★☆

   Very different to other reviews, had a fairly good experience here in January 2024. The prices are very reasonable for an airport, with our pizza hot and tasty. Fries were only okay. Great atmosphere too as people relax before their flight. The food is all pre-made and reheated, perhaps a factor with other reviews. Hopefully my experience is a sign of what's to come!

   Asked for a pint, was given a tulip of beer instead. I politely asked for a pint and he said it was the only size. I requested a refund as I wouldn't have paid $12 for a small sized beeer... This wouldn't have been a major issue if this sad excuse of a man rolled his eyes and laughed at me for asking this, making me feel really uncomfortable. I confirmed that I did want the refund and without saying a word he aggressively started processing the refund. I asked for it electronically but he gave it to me in cash instead... I can see why they have such low reviews

   Sadly, this is the only place to get food before leaving the international departure lounge. Came here on weekday, just after lunch. Staff look like they don’t want to work. Keep forgetting the size and type of coffee I ordered (have to repeat my exact order multiple times). The coffee is decent, but the food is below average. My advice is to get food before you go through security/customs.

   As a New Zealand citizen flying out internationally, the food from this food court was an embarrassing and disgusting experience. The photo shows a Danish which was the second Danish my wife was served up. The first one looked weeks old and the second was not worth consuming. Just because we've been locked down doesn't mean we can serve below standard expensive slop. Wayne Hawtin

   In line with other reviews, this place is absolute $hit hole and embarrassment for this airport. Food shouldn’t be called even food, it’s some questionable , not very fresh pies and sandwiches and muffins like 2 weeks old. Just starve if you can rather than spending money there. Service confused and not able to quickly act. Sadly it’s the only food option at International terminal, which is problem of airport management as rather than lowering rental rates to attract more businesses and keep passengers happy they chose on just keeping everything shut down. A shame on you !

   Avoid at all costs!! Most people can’t however as this is the only food option after security. An absolute embarrassment to Christchurch. We had 2 x mince pies which were both cold in the middle and the kids refused to eat them. Some strange jelly stuff in the middle of both. A frittata which was again cold and resembled plastic. I specifically asked that everything was hot and was assured it was. Other people were taking food back. All over priced and staff simply do not care. Why is it so difficult to provide some sort of healthy food option Christchurch airport? Even sourcing a supplier of quality pies and investing in something to keep them warm would be a start. Anyway, you have our money now and your investors are no doubt happy.

   Still give 3 star as this is a feedback and not a complaint. 4am is very early. The only store open. The Q formed because of that point and also a false ( outdated offer). Store manager not doing well. To tell almost all in the Q after waiting for 20 mins that the offer is over is not right. Should OFF/shutdown the monitor screen at least. Since no choice we still have to order 4 sets of meal. Best regards
