Purchased Evo 12 m2 aluula DLab kite, it handled 20 gusting 24 kts at Brighton pier with ease. My old 2020 model could not do that
Came in last night not long before closing on my way for a mental health surf... I'd ordered a new board to add to the quiver (from elsewhere and had been messed around with it). I had made it to the water to find it was missing grub screws for the fins (I was a bit shitty at this and it had been a heck of a day at work too). The legend here helped me out with what I needed and totally made my day. I then got in the surf with all fins solidly attached and surfed till dark worry free. I could tell the guy had a lot of experience with gear too by the easy discussion. 10/10 recommend this place and the legend within.

I have been there 2 times, Allan was giving helpful advices each time to find the best gear for me. Great location just in front of the main windsurf spot in Christchurch. The place to go for wind or kite.
Extremely professional team and great range of equipment available in store. Definitely the place to go. Having kite-surfed at other schools, we can confidently say our time learning at Groundswell was the most comprehensive to date. They made us feel immediately welcomed. It is re-assuring to see how serious they are on kite safety aspects. We have purchased kites and boards and it has been a pleasure dealing with them. They know their products and they are happy to share the knowledge. Competitive prices too!
I am greatly disappointed in this shop. They sold me a windsurfing harness that they said as per the manufacturers instructional video showed them how to convert the harness over to kiteboarding. The handle pass line was rigged incorrectly causing damage to my new piece of equipment. The buckle weave for the webbing is inconsistent as per the images supplied. Minor thing easy to fix but shows a leach of detail on their part. I wanted to then rent a kite as I am a medium level experienced instructor. They stated their company policy which I am ok with but disappointed as I know of two other kite shops in NZ that rented me kites on my short stay. I had to buy a kite to get out on the water as the estuary is the only place they would do a seminar lesson to watch me use their gear I suppose. I bought a switchblade that had a tendency to back stall when unhooking a little easier than what I’d like. When I returned to kite after deciding it wasn’t the right style of kite for my riding style they said the best they could do was store credit. Shame they seem to be soo focused on selling eq to their customers that isn’t the type of equipment their customers a necessarily looking for in order to make a sale.
